VISUAL ARTS
Borders – Bamako Encounters –African Photographic Biennale hosted at the Johannesburg Art
Gallery and South African National Gallery, Cape Town. Project Manager & Public Educational
Programme Developement on behalf of French Institute of South Africa, 2010.

SPace - Currencies in Contemporary African Art, exhibition of 26 Contemporary Pan african artists
exhibited at Museum Africa 11 May - 11 July 2010 – Duties Include – Curator: Exhibition Logistics &
Public Educational Programme Developement

Urbanart project – a creative collective registered by Maria Fidel Regueros and Andrew. L Wessels
focused on Visual Arts and Film TV & Video production.

Assisted in the curation of exhibitions. Approached Embassies in Harare to exhibit and expose the local public to

Appointed to assist in fundraising for the Public Art Project. Raised R20 000 and assistance in kind - printing of
Project materials and Radio publicity.

Fundraiser for Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) Fringe event - Gallery Exhibition at “Gallery 168”.

Helped raise sponsorship from local wine label, “Mukuyu Wines” to support advertising and approached artists to

Research
Assisted with research, Plus Plus Plus (+++), Johannesburg, South Africa, December
2002 - March 2003
Research on Faraday Station and surrounding precinct – qualitative research to be used in
artistic interventions planned for the current architectural redevelopment of the area.

Assisted in collating information on the informal sector in the East Rand, for the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Council,
paying specific attention to social, gender and traditional factors contributing to the stronghold of this form of economic

Project Coordinator “European Volunteer Service”, Bulgaria, a European Commission Programme for sending
volunteers abroad and upon their arrival back in the country assisting them in the implementation of development

Was responsible for Product Identification - identifying Zimbabwean Artisans whose innovative and exciting products
could be uploaded and sold on the NOVICA.com website. Photographing (digital format) of products and styling them
in Adobe Photoshop. Maintaining contact with NOVICA Head Office in the USA. Dispatch of products to clients
abroad. Administrative responsibilities including the update of existing database on artisans and stock

Gallery Archivist and Assistant editor of Magazine, Chapungu Sculpture Park, Harare, Zimbabwe
(January – November 1998):
Was appointed primarily to update of the photo archives of the Chapungu Sculpture Park. In addition assisted
Gallery’s Magazine Editor with layout and content.

Project Coordinator, Inter Country People’s Aid, Harare, Zimbabwe – Local NGO (March                         – October
1998):
Was in charge of an income-generating programme in a peri-urban squatter settlement
 “ Dzivarasekwa Extension ”, Zimbabwe. Duties included were - Identifying products, which the target group could
produce within its capabilities in order to generate income, while teaching basic business skills to the target group.
Creating network relations with whom, the target group could assimilate and maintain sustainable relations and results.
Weekly reports on activities and proposals on how to expand activities. Appealing to international organisations,
diplomatic missions and other related NGOs for aid. Representing the Organisation at related NGO meetings.


Independent Work
Translator, Volunteer Service Overseas (April 2001):
 Translating of Teaching Materials on “Sexual Education and Personal Development “ for workshop held in Lom,
Bulgaria as part of Volunteer Service Overseas, UK activities in Bulgaria for people with learning difficulties and
disabilities

Simultaneous Translator (March 2001)
Participated in Workshop Held in Melnik, Bulgaria “Mental Health & User Organizations”, organised by “Hamlet Trust”,
a UK based NGO.

Visual Arts Project Manager, (February – March 2001)
Independently (as Association “Face”) with a group of colleagues developed “ Waste”, an Open Society, Sofia - Project
proposal for an Interactive Open Air exhibition using waste as art, whereby Bulgaria’s most prominent artist,
photographers and theatre performers are to interact with the public. Overall aim was to raise awareness through art of
the varied uses of waste products and about the level of pollution in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia;

Exhibition Curator, Sandro’s Gallery (April 2000)
Organised an exhibition of sculptures and painting at Sandro’s Gallery of International Artists (Colombia, Sweden and
Zimbabwe) – proceeds went to Island Hospice, Harare.
