Encouraging doubling of corporate bookings sees new appointment of
Amanda King as Events and Corporate Hospitality Manager
Lightwater Valley Theme Park near Ripon is pleased to announce the appointment of
Miss Amanda King as the new Events and Corporate Hospitality Manager at the
venue. Amanda was formerly Events Co-ordinator.
With a doubling of corporate hospitality bookings and a wave of new enquiries, the
promotion and appointment of Amanda is an important one as the corporate
hospitality and events markets are seen as crucial for the future expansion and
development of the park. The park has made a big investment in a new marquee as
a major corporate hospitality and entertaining space. Blue Chip clients which utilise
the services of the park include BT, Barclays, Northern Rail and Siemens.
Amanda has worked for the company for the last two years as the Events Co-
ordinator, gaining valuable experience creating unique event solutions for 12 to 3000
people. She commented on the announcement of her new appointment “I am
absolutely thrilled with my promotion. Lightwater Valley is such a unique venue to
organise events, the venue space and facilities that I can utilise to create bespoke
event for clients is immense. Our 2007 season has been very successful with a lot of
new companies using us for the very first time. They want to hold their event in a fun,
safe, family environment. This is what sets us apart from other venues and I am
really proud that my achievement has lead to Lightwater Valley investing into the
corporate events industry - it’s all about having confidence in the sector”. She also
went on to praise the team ethos at the park and the dedication of others in delivering
a professional, customer focused product.

Amanda is also responsible for the Lightwater Valley Shopping Village Dickensian
Festival and she is currently studying at the UK Centre for Events Management at
Leeds Metropolitan University.
