Fasting in Islam
Fasting

Fasting means abstaining from food and drink and from every act which may invalidate the fast, from dawn until sunset with intent. Muslims are also required to refrain from
lying, speak bad or useless, and instead of quarreling or fighting. This is because fasting is the training ground of patience, honesty and compromise with each other. So
indirectly, fasting also helps to cultivate a good attitude and kindness.And hopefully all of them extended into the following months, and not only during the fasting month.

Fasting in Christianity
In Catholicism, fasting means to reduce food intake to one serving a large (which may not contain meat on Friday Lent) and two small meals (taken in the morning and
evening). Eating between meals is not allowed. Fasting is mandatory for the believers in a particular day. Full fast means to avoid eating meat for a day. Fasting means taking
half of the meat only once a day. To some Catholics, fasting means not eating anything except drinking water.

Pope Pius XII at the beginning to relax some rules of fasting in 1956. In 1966, Pope Paul VI to change the strict rules of fasting in the Catholic Christian religion. He
recommended fasting depends on the local economic situation, and all Catholics voluntarily fast. In the United States, there are only two days of fast - Ash Wednesday and
Good Friday. Friday is a day of Lent is to abstain from eating meat. The teaching pastor since 1966 is a voluntary fasting during Lent Friday and abstain from eating and drinking

reduce the effectiveness of anesthesia. Another example is when undergoing certain health checks, we usually will be asked to fast so that the baseline (baseline) can be

There are also those who are fasting as a way of dieting. Usually they have to fast for quite some time, at least a week before it was effective. However, they may still eat
healthy, like fruit juices or vegetables.
A relatively new study on mice found that fasting every other day, and eat twice as much on the days not fasted insulin gives better control and durability neurons from
injury. This effect is similar to the rats given the limited calorie diet. This may mean that fasting every other day is an alternative to restriction of calories to live a healthier and
longer.
This is because the human body uses about one-third of the total energy during the guard. When the body is using energy, but no food intake, the body will find other energy
sources, such as glucose from glycogen storage in the liver, fatty acids from stored fat layer, and finally from the tissues of an important protein. The human body has no
problem relying on fatty acids, the brain and nervous system depends on the glucose. When the storage of glucose was nearly depleted, the body began to produce ketone
bodies (acetoactate, hydroxy-butyrate, and acetone) of the protein.Out of this source of protein can cause death. So, doctors are encouraging healthy eating only when you wish
to fast.
In addition, there are several benefits of fasting for health, such as:
give rest to the stomach to increase the efficiency
destroy waste or toxic pesticides in human blood
reduce / eliminate the addiction to alcohol and cigarettes
As a result, human health will improve. Weight and the risks of obesity-related diseases can be reduced, and the age a person can grow longer.

Fasting and political

Fasting caused by political factors (or more popularly known as the hunger strike) seems designed by Mohandas Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi).
Hunger strike has been used by many people around the world, including Martin Luther King Jr.. in America and Lanza del Vasto in Italy. This phenomenon also occurs in
