					                                               Instructions for Updating The Master File Database (MFD) Values Via the
                                             California Independent System Operator (CISO) Resource Data Template (RDT)

    1) Complete the appropriate data fields, or update the existing data values in this file with your new values.
    2) Notate the previous value(s) using the MS Excel function 'Insert Comment' for the updated values.
    3) If there is a need to insert more segments, please insert them with the associated RES_ID and highlight them in yellow.
    4) Highlight the cells in yellow for the modified and new data. The uncolored cells will not be updated.
    5) Highlight the cells in green if you have questions about the data.
    6) Use the COMMENTS column on each tab to explain the nature of the change in data.
    7) Reference the Definition and Code sheets for more information.
    8) The CISO will coordinate with the Schedule Coordinator (SC) and Participate Generator Owner (PG) before making the changes to the Master File Database.

Send the updated file with your comments to your CISO Client Representative, or directly to the ResourceData@caiso.com Mailbox for processing.


Notes Regarding Changes, and Dependent Data
 1. Updates to the Resources Tab:
   A) Updates to PMax/PMin/MDL data:
        a. Heat Rate Tab Dependency: The associated heat rate must be provided at the new PMax/PMin output level
        b. Ramp Rate Tab Dependency: The associated ramp rate point must be provided at the new PMax/PMin output level.
        c. PMax >= MDL >= PMin
   B) Updates to Maximum Ramp Rate data:
        a. Ramp Rate Tab Dependency: The highest MAX_RAMP_RATE value on the Ramp Rate tab must be equal to the MAX_RAMP_RATE value on the Resources tab.
 2. Updates to Ramp Rate Tab: Not more than 11 segments per RES_ID
 3. Updates to Heat Rate Tab: No Heat Rate values within a Forbidden Region. Not more than 11 segments per RES_ID.
 4. Updates to Startup Tab: Down Time must be 0 on segment 1. Not more than 11 segments per RES_ID.
 5. Updates to the Forbidden Region Tab:
        a. Not more than 4 segments.
        b. Heat Rate Tab Dependency: Must provide the values of upper/lower boundary of the Forbidden Region.
 6. For dynamic resource, only the MFD_Resources, MFD_RampRate, and MFD_Startup tabs are required.
 7. For non-dispatchable resources including BGAS, WIND, and SOLR, only the MFD_Resources tab is required.
 8. For RMR resources, contact the CISO RMR Contracts Department before making Ramp Rate data changes.
 9. The UDC_ID, ZONE_ID, DMND_ZONE, LOAD_GRP and CERT_CD are CISO provided values.

Participating Generator Agreement Name   PGA_NAME                                       The contractual name as noted on the Participating

Scheduling Coordinator Identifier          SC_ID                                        The four digit identifier of the entity authorized to
                                                                                        submit to the CISO a generation or demand schedule
                                                                                        on behalf of one or more generators, and one or
                                                                             text       more end-users customers.
Resource Type                            RES_TYPE                                       Descriptive identifier denoting the type of resource:
                                                                             text       Generating Unit, Synchronous Condenser.
Prime Mover Technology                   GEN_TECH                                       Description of prime mover technology associated
                                                                                        with the Generating Unit; such as, Hydro Turbine,
                                                                             text       Gas Turbine, Combined Cycle, etc.
Primary Fuel Type                        FUEL_TYPE                                      Description of primary fuel type; such as, Natural
                                                                             text       Gas, Oil, Nuclear, etc.
Air Quality Management District           AQM_DIST                                      The Air Quality Management District or Air Pollution
                                                                             text       Control District in which the resource is located.
Certification Code                        CERT_CD                                       The identifier used to denote which Ancillary Service
                                                                                        certification(s) a resource holds. S = Spin, N = Non-
                                                                             text       Spin, R = Regulation, P = Replacement.
Maximum Emergency Capability                MEC                                         The maximum potential power output capability
                                                                                        (MEC) of a Generating Unit for short-time emergency
                                                                                        operating conditions. Its value should be > or = PMAX.
                                                                             MW
Normal Maximum Capacity (PMAX)              PMAX                                        The maximum Net Dependable Capacity (PMAX or
                                                                                        PMAX) a Generating Unit can produce on a sustained
                                                                                        basis as measured at or compensated to the
                                                                                        Generating Unit's defined point of delivery. It is
                                                                                        mathematically equal to a Generating Unit's Gross
                                                                             MW         Dependable Capac

Minimum Dispatchable Level                    MDL                                        The minimum operating level at which a Generating
                                                                                         Unit is able to readily respond to a CISO dispatch
                                                                                         instruction (MDL). It should be a forbiden range
                                                                              MW         between MDL and Pmin.
Minimum Operating Level                       PMIN                                       The minimum output level (PMIN) at which a
                                                                              MW         Generating Unit can operate on a sustained basis.
Single Maximum Ramp Rate                 MAX_RAMP_RATE                                   The single maximum ramp rate for Ancillary Service
                                                                          MW/minutes     and current BEEP.
Minimum On Time                           MIN_ON_TIME                                    The minimum amount of time that a Generating Unit
                                                                                         must stay on-line after being started up, prior to
                                                                                         being shut down, due to physical operating
                                                                             Minutes     constraints.
Maximum Daily On Time                     MAX_ON_TIME                                    The maximum amount of time that a Generating Unit
                                                                                         can stay on-line per day when operating at its PMAX

                                                Ramp Rate Definitions

Output of Point Range (MW)             MW                                         The Generating Unit MW output of point i. The first
                                                                                  point (1) of MW output must begin at the Generating
                                                                                  Unit's PMIN. The last point (n) of MW output must end
                                                                       MW         at the Generating Unit's PMAX.
Minimum Ramp Rate                 MIN_RAMP_RATE                                   The minimum ramp rate of the Generating Unit
                                                                                  between point (i) and the point (i+1). The minimum

                                                                                  first point (1) at PMIN and last point (n) at PMAX.

                                            Start Up Definitions
Startup Segment Number          SEG_NO
                                                                               The segment numbers between the PMIN and PMAX of
                                                                  Integer      the Generating Unit output. The segment starts at 1.
Generator Down Time           DOWN_TIME                                        The amount of time the Generating Unit must be off
                                                                               (in minutes) within sequence (i). The first down time
                                                                  Minutes      must be zero.
Generator Startup Time       STARTUP_TIME                                      Startup Time is the time (in minutes) it takes a
                                                                               resource to achieve PMin from an off-line position
                                                                               given the corresponding Down Time. The startup time
                                                                               of the Generating Unit from the down time (i) to
                                                                               down time (i + 1). The last sequence is the startup
                                                                  Minutes      time from the current sequence to infinite.
Startup Cost                 STARTUP_COST                                      The startup cost of non-natural gas fired Generating
                                                                               Units (in dollars) from the down time (i) to down time
                                                                               (i + 1). The last sequence is the startup cost (in
                                                                 Dollars ($)   dollars) from current sequence to infinite.

Startup Fuel Use                               STARTUP_FUEL                                           The fuel use (in mBTU per start) expected for the
                                                                                                      startup of a natural gas fired Generating Unit that
                                                                                                      has been off-line for a substantial period of time. The
                                                                                                      startup fuel of the Generating Unit (in mBTU) from
                                                                                                      the down time (i) to down time (i + 1). The last
                                                                                                      sequence is the startup fuel (in mBTU) from current
                                                                                        Million BTU   sequence to infinite.
Startup Auxiliary Energy Requirement           STARTUP_AUX                                            The electrical power used by a Generating Unit
                                                                                                      during startup. The Generating Unit's startup
                                                                                                      auxiliary power (in MWh) from the down time (i) to
                                                                                                      down time (i + 1). The last sequence is the startup
                                                                                                      auxiliary power (in MWh) from current sequence to
                                                                                          MWh         infinite.


                                                         Forbidden Region Definitions
Forbidden Region Segment Number                    SEG_NO                                             The segment numbers between the PMIN and PMAX of
                                                                                                      the Generating Unit output, with the segment
                                                                                                      starting at 1.
