Students in EVERY class will receive class goals in the beginning of the year; such as the areas that we will be
focusing on during the semester, ways you can help your child succeed and any materials they may need to
get the most out of class. Mid-way through the semester everyone will receive a progress report on their child
so you know how well they are progressing, the areas they may be struggling or succeeding in and an overall
update on the progress of the class in general. At the end of the semester every child will receive written
comments outlining their successes in the class, what areas they still need to work on and suggestions for
next semester’s class placement. Parents will also have the opportunity to schedule a 1:1 meeting with their
                                          child’s instructor if desired.

                                              Weekend Workshops

No time for weekly classes? Can’t commit to an entire semester?
We believe that some interest areas may be covered in a workshop in a few hours. This year ACT is offering
weekend workshops for 2 – 4 hours in length in many areas of the performing arts. Some workshops being
                                      offered this semester include…

Stage Craft (Set and Costume Design)

                            7:00 – 8:00 Intermediate Musical Theatre Dance

4:00pm – 5:00pm – Beginner Musical Theatre Dance (grades 1 - 5)
Would your child like to know the basics of dance? Would they like to feel more comfortable at auditions and
on stage? Then this class is for them. Your instructor will give your child the tools they need to be successful
and confident with movement and dance on stage by instilling the basics of jazz, tap, and ballet all geared
towards musical theatre. There will be two parent showcase recitals a year (one per semester) where your
child can “show their stuff” WITHOUT having to pay for expensive costumes or production fees.
*Parent Showcase Tickets $5 each

5:00pm – 6:00pm – Triple Threat Academy (grades 1 – 5)
A triple threat performer can dance, act and sing, something very few people can do well. In this class your
child will get in-depth instruction on each of these disciplines by 3 different instructors who specialize in
each discipline of musical theatre (focusing on each one for about 5 weeks). Your child will build a resume
by having strong audition pieces as well as being able to shine on stage. These building blocks of education
will prepare your child to do well in auditions and productions and will also build their self-confidence so they
can excel in public speaking.

6:00pm – 7:00pm – Intermediate Triple Threat Academy (grades 6 – 12)
A triple threat performer can dance, act and sing, something very few people can do well. In this class your
child will get in-depth instruction on each of these disciplines by 3 different instructors who specialize in
each discipline of musical theatre (focusing on each one for about 5 weeks). We will discover your child‟s
own personal strengths and weaknesses and give them instruction and exercises that will improve their
weaknesses and let their strong points shine. There will be guest speakers as well so your child can have
access to people “in the business” to assist them in their career paths or just answer questions and give
direction to a young performer.

7:00pm – 8:00pm – Intermediate Musical Theatre Dance
Has your child had some dance in the past and is currently looking to refresh their skills? Is your child a little
older and doesn‟t want to take dance class with very young children? Would your child like to be more
empowered and successful at dance calls? This class is designed for the student who would like to become
a better dancer, regardless of their previous experience. In a relaxed, fun and supportive environment, your
child will be instructed in jazz, tap and ballet basics. There will be two parent showcase recitals a year, one
each semester where your child can “show their stuff” WITHOUT having to pay for expensive costumes or
production fees.
*Parent Showcase Tickets $5 each

4:00pm – 5:00pm – K – 3 Studio Series Level I – PRODUCTION BASED
Studio Series classes are designed to allow your child to participate in a full scale, age-appropriate musical
theatre show. This year we have split the classes by experience level in order to allow for smaller class
sizes and for groups to work at a pace to suit them. Level I will move at a nice slow pace, will include more
basic instruction on auditioning, dance, vocals and acting and have a class size no larger than 20. We hope
the small class size allows for larger roles and individualized attention. All scripts, music and costumes are
included in the cost of the class (with the possible exception of some footwear). The class will produce a 30-
minute musical of “Sleeping Beauty”, to be performed for parents at the end of the semester.
