Waipa schools battle for supremacy
BY CATHY ASPLIN

Te Awamutu College hosted this year’s
Waipa Tri-Nations competition, taking on
teams from St Peter’s School and Cambridge
High School.
Around 300 students took part in sports
events, dance, theatre sports, chess, a general
knowledge quiz and debating.
Te Awamutu College won five of the 14
events: boys’ basketball, touch rugby, rugby,
chess and table tennis.
Overall winners were St Peter’s (31 points)
with Cambridge second (28) and Te Awamutu
third (25). Cambridge won the school spirit
award.
   Student organisers thank staff, coaches
and managers for their valuable assistance
with the event.
