of 15yr old Phoebe Prince received in January of 2010. This
one case sent young adults, a family and a town into an
uproar when confronted with the news. Starting from the
younger sister who found her hanging body to the family,
things have not been the same. “She’s gone now and we
will never have her again”, says father Jeremy Prince.

It is cases like this that has prompted lawmakers to place
antibullying laws in action. This plan requires schools to
report incidents of bullying to local police if it’s believed
any laws may have been broken. The bill is in conference

offenders like in the case of teenager, Phoebe Prince.

WhAt is Bullying?
It’s a form of abuse or control which can be
emotional, physical or verbal. Like in the case of
young Prince it was all three which eventually
lead to her death. Repeated acts over time
attempting to gain power or control over another
create and imbalance in power and can lead to
serious issues. Believe it or not, bullying doesn’t
just happen in schools but can be seen amongst
adults as well and often is taken as a joke or just a
rumor. It’s surprising how something as small as a
dirty look or juicy gossip about someone’s “Love
Triangle” can become so uncomfortable, until the
slanderous comments are directed at you.

WhO And Where Are the Bullies?
As stated earlier you don’t have to be in high
school to be bullied. It’s easy for places like
websites, workplaces, high school or even your
popular sorority to be a place of horror. In the case
of Phoebe Prince it was her Facebook page that
helped in detecting her weaknesses says, Dr. Keith
Ablow. “Dehumanizing her had to have been
intoxicating,” he stated.

We all know laughter is an expression of
happiness and joy. Though some situations
and circumstances we endure may suggest
laughing is inappropriate, we still reference
the verse of our good ole hymnal, Joy
Unspeakable, and sing, “The world didn’t
give it to me and the world can’t take it
away.” We had a chat with professional
comedian, Marcus D. Wiley as he explains
his God given gift.

laughter Brings endurance
Sometimes a Christian asks, “How can I smile right now
when my marriage is in distress, children may not be in
line with the word of God or I’m just not in a laughing
mood?” In case one of those or anything similar to those
hits anywhere close to home, guess what, you still have
joy. “We’ve got to lay aside the babymomma, babydaddy
drama and learn to experience God’s peace & joy,” says
Marcus. Not just a comedian, but a child of God who
ministers though comedy, he teaches that the Joy of
the Lord is your strength and will be how you make it
through your everyday trials. So the question from earlier
should now be a testimony you’re speaking out of your
mouth. Though my marriage is in distress or children
may not be in line with the word of God, I still have Joy.
I’m still smiling.

From the Desk
                    of the Pastor
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. Hebrews 10:2425

I count myself happy and blessed to speak at this
occasion of the 92nd Anniversary of Mt. Rose
Baptist Church. Looking back at times we have had
together, I have nothing but gratitude to God and
the Mt. Rose Family for all we have accomplished
as a team for God.

The writer of Hebrews had this important word for
the church, “Let us consider how to stimulate one
another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our
own assembling together, as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another; and all the more as
you see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:2425

Nothing will stimulate spiritual growth faster than
when we experience the love of God’s people, join
other believers in serving the Lord, and draw on
Christ and each other for regular encouragement.

So we ought not to forsake the assembly, the
church, because it provides the environment that
stimulates our spiritual growth and development.
I don’t know about you, but I have days when I and puts out more heat, when many logs are stacked

Present Day Nuns
and Sisterhood
Many are familiar with the priesthood, but not with the sisterhood
as much. Sisters and nuns are distinguishable according to their
environment. A sister lives an apostolic life and serves in ministry
while a nun does the same, but lives in a monastery (a community of
persons with a certain religious life) with other nuns as well. To be part
of the sisterhood requires a sincere, reflective, intense commitment that
is suitable for devoted individuals wanting to sacrifice much to attain
what is indescribable; a relationship with God.

No Stones had the opportunity to interview of Hope is a program opposed of the death

The sisterhood can be referred to as OP, order of preachers.
There are four pillars that are guidelines that must be practiced
every day; prayer, ministry, community, and especially study.
The sisters pray together, but more frequently on their own.
They are given the option to attend mass everyday, which is on
  the premises.

During our interview, Sister Ceil was dressed with regular
clothing. In the past, one would see sisters and nuns dressed
in the black and white cloaks, mainly in movies. Today,
it’s a common practice that sisters do not wear Habits. This
way, they’re not singled out from the rest of the community.

Sisters live a humble devoting life that comes natural to persist
on a daily basis. Compared to many other religions, the
sisterhood is not required to live by a set of rules, but rather,
                                                                                                  Sister Ceil
to live life in a religious wholesome manner and also accord-
ing to their vows. Sisters are able to execute the same habits
individuals are on a daily basis. They are able to go on vaca-
tions, watch movies, travel if necessary, interact with others
outside the community and so forth. Sisters and nuns do not
live off a set salary. Rather, their income is based on donations
given to the parish by the community. Although the lifestyle
of living on an uncontrolled income may sound difficult, one
must remember, the purpose of sisterhood is not to live a mate-
rial life, but a more simplistic lifestyle that allows them to fully
devote and serve the monastery and God.

The sisterhood is a wonderful way of serving God when fully
devoted to Him. Everyone has different ways of devoting to
God, but for those willing to make sacrifices such as not marry-
ing or living a non-materialistic lifestyle, the sisterhood may be
a wonderful way to devote your life to God.
