The Latest News At Las Ventanas al Paraíso: Autumn 2010

‘Sleeping With the Stars at Las Ventanas’
Las Ventanas’ Director of Romance is a modern-day Cupid who creates unforgettable experiences to
make guests’ romantic dreams come true. Her latest Cupid’s arrow is ‘Sleeping with the Stars at Las
Ventanas’ where couples sleep outside cocooned together in a private, intimate perch under the
incredibly starry skies of Baja – but without forgoing luxury of course. A plush king-size bed along
with an array of amenities – including a telescope with a guide to viewing the constellations, fan,
phone, wash basin and mirror, alarm clock, coffee machine, a night stand, candles and/or night
lamp, and in some suites, a fireplace or natural heater and a Jacuzzi – is set up on any of the rooftop
terrace suites or penthouse suites which have private terraces that are wide open to the heavens.
This lover’s nest seemingly atop the world is one of the most romantic experiences ever offered by
the Five Diamond resort.

‘Bride’s New Beginning Ritual’ at the Spa at Las Ventanas
Couples come to Las Ventanas for ultra-extravagant, intimate weddings in the ultimate romantic
atmosphere. Now, the resort offers another path to nuptial bliss: The Bride’s New Beginning Ritual.
The inspirational ritual prepares the bride, together with her bridesmaids, spiritually and emotionally
for the important ceremony and events to come, while creating positive energy for the bride’s new
beginning in life. It begins with a Holistic Twilight Ceremony: With numerous candles illuminating
the open-air Solarium and crystal bowls resonating with beautiful harmonic tones, a Maya ritual is
performed with sage smoke and shaman prayers that honours mother earth and the Four Elements,
taps positive energy and reaches out for eternal love. A 60-minute massage follows for the bride and
each bridesmaid, personalised to each person’s needs and requests. Completing the experience are
two take-home gifts: a natural quartz to remember the moment forever and a personal care product
formulated with Four Elements ingredients.

Ceviche, Sushi & Tequila Bar is a Cool Hangout
The Ceviche, Sushi & Tequila Bar is Las Ventanas’ cool new hangout where guests enjoy Mexico’s
most exclusive and rarest tequilas, the most innovative ceviches prepared from the freshest seafood
from the Sea of Cortez, and sushi that is a fusion of Japanese and Mexican culinary traditions and
flavours. The one-of-a-kind bar seats 24 in the shade of a large thatched palapa over the bar area
and under a latilla screen over the patio. Traditional wooden-branch screens, the rustic latillas are
used throughout the resort to protect guests from the sun. The palapa features a striking,
oversized coloured-glass chandelier from Guadalajara that is particularly breath-taking at night,
lighting up the bar with a kaleidoscope of intense hues.

Conch Shell Alert & Binoculars Bring Whales Into View
When the sound of the conch shell breaks the quiet, guests are alerted that one of nature’s wonders
– the annual migration of massive grey mammals – is passing right by Las Ventanas. The resort staff
scans the water continuously during the December through March whale season in search of the
regal cetaceans, and when a pod is spotted they blow the pre-Hispanic instrument. To enable guests
to better enjoy the spectacular spectacle, powerful Minolta EZ 10X50 binoculars are available at the
Sea Grill at the water’s edge. During the annual whale parade, these leviathans of the sea swim in
the winter months from the cold north to the warm waters of Baja where they will spawn. In spring,
they embark on the return trip north with babies in tow. Las Ventanas adopted an ancient medium –
the unique, alluring sound of the conch shell was long used for important communication among
indigenous peoples – to alert guests to the joys of witnessing a timeless phenomenon.
