    Presidential Update

This is a wonderful opportunity to
bring you up to date about the new
school. We are in the process of
                         gaining the appropriate site and
                         building permits from Frederick
                         County. We are confident that
construction of the new facility will
begin by March of 2008 and be able
to the meet the deadline of opening
the new campus by August of 2009. The
architects have completed the programming and
design of the new building. As you can see from
the artist renderings, the school and campus are
beautifully designed and will serve our students for
a long time. The excitement continues to build with
each step that we take to get closer to the realization
of the bold move. In later issues we will share
information with you on how you can get involved in
ensuring that Saint John’s continues to be a premier
Catholic high school in the region.

    The Father Jordan Scholarship Fund
Freshman Nicolas Fuster was awarded The Father Jordan Scholarship Fund
for the 2006-2007 school year. Nicolas likes being in a Catholic high school and
playing lacrosse at Saint John’s. He enjoys spending time with his family, living on
a farm, and riding horses. Many alumni and friends of Saint John’s have contrib-
uted to the fund over the years and we are extremely grateful for their generosity.

Father Jordan was involved with the school from 1946 to 1962 and is remembered
fondly by the Saint John’s Community. It is our hope to continue building the fund
so that many other deserving students will benefit from his memorial scholarship
and a Catholic education.

would like to make a contribution or have any questions.

Alumni Gather
for Thanksgiving
On Friday, November 24, 2006, alumni, parents,
students and friends gathered for our Annual
Alumni Thanksgiving Gathering. The day started
off with a volleyball game; pitting members of
our own Saint John’s volleyball team against
a group of alumni. Following that, the alumni
men were split into green and gold teams and Our men’s alumni basketball players
played two exciting basketball match-ups. When
all of the games were finished, alumni gathered
in the library for a reception with food and
refreshments. Memories were shared as alumni
talked and paged through old yearbooks. Thanks
to everyone who came and helped make it such
a memorable event.

Next year’s games will be held Friday,
November 23, 2007. (The Friday after
