Participant Profile – Ted Buffington Ted C. Buffington founder and CEO of Achievement By Design, is an internationally recognized researcher, lecturer and trainer in the field of leadership development, decision making, and conflict management & mediation His experience includes over twenty years providing consulting and training programs to Fortune 500 companies; government agencies, and the U.S. Army and Navy. Ted is Adjunct Faculty and Lecturer for the CPDM (Community Preparedness and Disaster Management) program at UNC at Chapel Hill, and Associate Editor and Columnist for Responder Magazine. He is a Certified Emergency Response Professional (CERP), a Certified Emergency Preparedness Education Professional (CEPEP); Chair-elect for the Tarrant County Citizen Corp Council; Co-Chair of the Communications Committee of the International Association of Emergency Managers, Chief Warrant Officer in the Texas Medical Rangers unit of the Texas State Guard; President of the Keller Fire & Emergency Management Academy and Keller CERT Association, Instructor & Curriculum Developer for his local Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). He serves on several Boards including: Blue Sky Foundation of North Carolina, and Crisis Teams International. He is a regular keynote speaker and presenter at several emergency management conferences including the World Conference on Disaster Management in Toronto, Canada, and many DRJ Business Continuity Conferences. His articles and comments have been presented in several publications internationally including: The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Industry Week magazine, and Canadian Business Magazine.
