Tennessee Risk Management Trust To: Superintendents and Board Chairs of TNRMT Member School Boards, County Executives and Public Utility Managers of Non-school Members From: John Wilburn, Trust Administrator Re: Election of Trustees Date: March 15, 2007 Tennessee Risk Management Trust members in four of our nine geographic districts -- Districts 2, 3, 5 and 9 -- will have an opportunity to vote on their trustees this spring. The strength of TNRMT is in its members. An elected board strengthens participation, accountability and the mutual sense of cooperation that has been the hallmark of this pool since its inception in 1987. To prepare for the election, each school board or governmental entity in Districts 2, 3, 5 and 9 is requested to send in the names of one or two voting delegates — one if your group participates in either our Board Liability or Workers Compensation program and two if you participate in both — as well as make a nomination for the trustee position in your district if you so desire. Your board chairman will be the presumed voting delegate, but your board may choose any member as the voting delegate. Enclosed is a nomination form, which your voting delegate may use to make a nomination and return to the nominating committee by April 15, accompanied by a resume of the nominee. The nominating committee of the board of trustees will consider the nominations and nominate at least one person but no more than three to fill each vacant position. Please consult the enclosed bylaws in making your nominations. Each voting delegate will receive a written ballot along with the resumes of persons nominated as trustees. The nominee receiving the most votes will be elected and begin serving on July 1. The trustee terms in Districts 2, 5 and 9 are for three years. The District 3 term is for one year. The Tennessee Risk Management Trust is governed by a board of trustees, each elected by the delegates in their district. With this years’ election, the board will have completely evolved from a self-perpetuating board to a fully elected board. Below is a map of districts in the state and information on which groups are in the districts with trusteeships to be filled this year, and who currently represents that district.
