Mr. Peter C. Webb is a Battalion Chief with the Dothan Fire Department located in Dothan,
Alabama. He is the chief of Training and Safety and has been assigned to this position since his
promotion to Battalion Chief in July 2007. Chief Webb has overall responsibility for the training
and safety of a 169-member fire department and direct supervision of 3 captains and 1 sergeant.
He is the team leader for a 36-member heavy rescue team through the Alabama Mutual Aid
System. Prior to his promotion, Chief Webb worked as both a captain within the Training and
Safety Division and as company officer for a paramedic engine company. He is also the liaison
with the Houston County Emergency Management Agency for the Dothan Fire Department.

Chief Webb is also a Master Sergeant (E-7) in the Air Force Reserve; his duty assignment is the
Assistant Chief of Training. He is assigned to a 24-person fire protection flight that is worldwide
deployable and has been in the Air Force Reserve since June 1998. In October 2001, he was
activated and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and
Operation Southern Watch. Prior to his enlistment with the Air Force Reserve, he was enlisted in
the U.S. Army for 8 years as a fire protection specialist.

In April 2007, Chief Webb graduated with an M.S. in emergency management from Jacksonville
State University in Alabama. He received his bachelor’s degree in public safety administration
from Athens State University. He is nationally certified through the State of Alabama and the
Department of Defense Firefighter Certification System as a Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor III,
and Fire Inspector II, and as a Rescue Technician. He is also a National Registered Paramedic.
Currently, Chief Webb is enrolled in the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer
Program through the United States Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Chief Webb is a member of the Epsilon Pi Phi Honor Society through the Foundation of Higher
Education and is a member of the Jacksonville State University Emergency Management Alumni
Group initiative. He will be working with the Epsilon Pi Phi Honor Society throughout the
Conference and assisting with the presentations of this committee and Foundation of Higher
Education collaborative efforts between responders, educators, and practitioners.
