Miami Device Solutions LLC (MDS), a growing medical device development company
located in Miami, South Florida just west of the airport minutes away from all major
highways, is seeking a Tool Design Engineer/CNC Machinist with 2 years experience,
preferably in the medical device industry, prototype manufacturing or related industries. At
MDS, we work with an extensive network of engineers, surgeons and hospitals as well as
leaders in the medical device industry worldwide. Our company promotes a challenging

products from the initial concept stage through the phases of designing, prototyping, testing
and commercialization.

It is the responsibility of the Tool Design Engineer/CNC Machinist to create programs,
prototypes and products from CAD drawings and blueprints. The emphasis is on product
development of high precision metallic (SS, Ti) and plastic devices mainly for the medical
device industry. The jobs range from one-off prototypes to small-scale manufacturing. The
Tool Design Engineer/CNC Machinist works in a project-based environment that is
constantly changing as new product designs are introduced. At MDS, the Tool Design
Engineer/CNC Machinist will have the opportunity to work in a high-end machine shop with
brand new machinery including: a 2008 5-axis CNC milling machine and a 2008 CNC

The candidate for this position must have extensive experience with CNC milling and
turning, CNC programming, and manufacturing as well as prototyping and assembling of
intricate designs. CAD (SolidWorks) and CAM (SolidCAM) skills are beneficial.
Understanding of drawings, tolerances and metric units are necessary as well as
experience with conventional machine shop equipment, grinders, hand tools, etc. Medical
device development methods as well as material science knowledge are beneficial. This
position requires a challenge-seeking and self-motivated team player with good problem
solving skills, practical knowledge and common sense. It is imperative that you be thorough
and detail-oriented as well as have a broad range of knowledge and experience in
