Drama Club Rules and Contract 2010-2011 1.) All students are required to attend all rehearsals for which they are scheduled. Not everyone is required at all rehearsals. Excused Absences: Absences may be excused if a note from a parent is submitted one week prior to the missed rehearsal. The director must also approve the absence once the note is submitted. Only in the event of sickness or family emergency may a note may be submitted following the missed rehearsal. Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences will not be tolerated. In order to maintain professionalism and a high level of performance quality, each student will only be allowed two unexcused absences. More than two unexcused absences will result in an automatic termination from the production. The director will be in charge of approving absences and students who miss two rehearsals will be notified via a verbal warning. Sports and other school activities: While it is important to be involved in many activities, students must be responsible in their time management. Given proper parent and student notification, explained in the excused absence section above, students may negotiate a shared schedule between the director and other activity advisors/coaches. Please be advised that if a student cannot attend all dress rehearsals and performances for the entire duration, the student will be removed from the production. Please do not become overcommitted, plan ahead. THERE WILL BE NO EXCUSED ABSENCES DURING THE FOLLOWING DRESS REHEARSALS: February 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, and performances: Feb 4th, 5th, and 6th. The only exception will be due to extreme sickness. If you have any conflicts or if conflicts arise you will not be able to perform, however there are many other ways to be involved. 2.) Attitude in Rehearsal All students involved in the production share equal importance. Arrogance and misconduct in any form will not be tolerated. Guidelines discussed in the Salem High School Student Handbook regarding behavior will be strictly enforced. If you are put on warning and asked to leave a rehearsal more than once you will be removed from the production. 3.) Fundraising Responsibilities In addition to paying the Salem High School Student Activity Fee, each student will be required to raise $100.00 through the selling of program book ads and other fundraisers. This money will help support our Artist in Residence Series that students involved in the musical benefit from. 4.) Production Requirement Each student is responsible for five hours of set construction and painting outside of mandatory full cast requirements. A schedule will be provided outlining dates. ------------------------------------------Please detach and sign------------------------------------- I understand that in order to participate and remain involved in the Drama Club Musical I must consistently follow the above rules and guidelines. _________________________________ ______________________________ Student Signature Parent Signature O*N*S*T*A*G*E at Salem High School presents: AUDITION INFORMATION: WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 3 and Thursday, Nov. 4. 2:30 - 3:45 Sign up for 1 slot only!
