Scouller Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland with a population of over 580,000 and covers an area of 8,682 square miles. The city was bombed heavily during World War II by the Germans who sought to destroy the shipbuilding capabilities of the city that led the way in designing and building ships for Brittan and their allies, on the banks of the River Clyde. The city has seen more than its share of violence and organised crime. The „Razor Gangs‟ of the 1950s and 60s fought for control over turf, resulting in the streets running red with blood. The trademark straightedge razor was the weapon of choice, easily concealed and quickly deployed, ensuring devastating results. The slash from the ear, down to the corner of the mouth was known as “The Glasgow Smile”, the tell-tale scar left on the face of the victim remains forevermore, associating them with a certain time and place for the rest of their lives. When the swinging 60s was at its peak, the dance halls of Glasgow were packed nightly with Peter Tobin, born in 1946 was released after thousands of young people who flocked to venues a ten year prison sentence for a double rape such as „Barrowlands‟ that sits on the fringe in 1993. Kluk worked at the church as a cleaner and Tobin carried out repairs around the church and adjoining buildings. After the Murder Tobin fled to England fearing he would be caught, suggesting the murder of Angelika was not premeditated, but an opportunist crime that his murderous temperament succumbed to. Tobin checked into a hospital under a false name faking a condition that would give him a warm bed, a ploy drifters often use so that they can disappear from the streets into the sanctuary provided by hospitals. He had hoped to stay there long enough, so he could figure out his next move, however there was a warrant out for his arrest after failing to notify the police of his When police released mug shots of Tobin there change of address and with this new murder Tobin was an uncanny resemblance to the 1960s police felt the walls were closing in. Four days later remains were discovered belonging to 18 -year old Dinah McNicol who went missing after attending a music festival in 1991. She and a friend accepted a lift from a stranger. The friend was dropped off first and Dinah and the driver drove off, that was the last time she was seen alive. The missing girl‟s bank account was regularly accessed with sums of money being lifted out every so often. There was possible hope that Dinah was alive and accessing her account, but the truth was her killer was taking the money. WELCOME TO HELL By Eric Gein We summoned Sicktanick of Serial Killin Records to speak with us and give us his insights and opinions on a number of subjects relating to his music and his company. Sicktanick is the head of Serial Killin' Records and seems to be the hands down man to speak with concerning this sometimes controversial music genre. SKR is one, if not the top label and company in the genre. We sat down with him and explored a variety of topics. EG: Sicktanick, thanks for taking the time to speak with us! First can we ask you to tell our EG: Can you give us a brief history lesson on the readers a little about yourself (as a person, artist horrocore genre? How was it born? Our economy is garbage, and with things like Christian morality and the influence of that very morality that has drank the blood of humanity for all these years people are so brainwashed that they have to find a scapegoat to blame the world problems on because its different. THE MURDERABILIA GURU FROM ACROSS THE POND By Jessika Gein We had the pleasure of speaking to author Steven F. Scouller about his fantastic book, Murderabilia and True Crime Collecting. JG: How did the idea for your book, Murderabilia and True Crime Collecting come about? SS: I have always had an interest in true crime, in particular serial and unsolved murders and through researching these crimes coupled with my interest in collecting film memorabilia; I discovered the world of true crime collecting. It is only through recent years that the Internet has propelled the interest and allowed people with the same interest to come together. I knew people collected items relating to gangsters such as the Kray Twins, but it was when I read engagements. I decided that I still wanted to document that Gacy was selling his artwork that I thought this collectable hobby, which now had a name that these items would become valuable in the “Murderabilia”, (which adds to the mystique and future. I guess you could say I spotted a future helps to perpetuate the misconceptions around true potential investment opportunity, as did many crime collecting). So after consideration the only way people. This was mostly in America as there forward for me was to write a book, but the book had was not too much in the U.K. press about „killer to be filled with pictures, simply text alone would not artefacts‟ entering the public domain until do the subject matter any justice, the book had to have Jeffery Dahmer‟s case where Mr. Zilber as many images as I could get in. JG: In the U.S., politicians and victim advocate groups are dead set on making murderabilia illegal. What is the atmosphere in the UK regarding this hobby/business? SS: Here in the U.K. the subject of Murderabilia does not gain much press attention and that is probably a good thing as usually any mention of it leads to negative connotations. Having said that items relating to British Gangsters often crop up in respected auction houses such as Sotheby‟s and Christie‟s. Just last week Kray Twin items went under the hammer. This is seen as acceptable, probably because their „firm‟ is now obsolete and many decades have passed since the Kray‟s were in power in the East End of London. It does beg the question - how long does a person need to be dead for, before their items can be considered collectible items with no stigma attached? JG: Do you have any other works in the making that our readers may like to hear about? SS: As far as future projects go, I have a few more ideas for books, both fiction and non- fiction. I have been discussing some film ideas too, but I am currently in the early stages of working on a theatrical stage play of John Wayne Gacy‟s life, so I have a few projects on the go, but I‟m always open to offers!
