SCHOOL OF ADVANCED STUDY REGISTRY
ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
2010/11
The School of Advanced Study has a relatively small number of quota places in the University of London Halls of
Residence. However, a number of alternative accommodation options are available for those who are not allocated a
Halls place, or who wish to seek their own accommodation.

Halls of Residence Centralised Waiting List Day
The UoL Intercollegiate Halls of Residence Bureau operates a centralised ‘Waiting List’ day, which usually takes place
on the second Friday in September. Depending on the residence, full‐time students, including those not in their first
year of study in 2010/11, can apply for unallocated spaces at any hall either by fax, email or in person (on that day
only). Part‐time students with disabilities that prevent them from studying on a full‐time basis are also eligible to
apply. Students are encouraged to apply as a number do get places. Students can make multiple applications to halls
but if they accept an offer at one hall and pay a deposit, and then go elsewhere, the deposit will be forfeited until the
room is filled. Further detailed information about the Waiting List day will be made available on the University of
London’s Intercollegiate Halls of Residence webpage at the beginning of September:
http://www.london.ac.uk/halls.html. The Registry will also send details of the application procedures to applicants on
the School’s accommodation reserves list.
The SAS Registry can provide proof of acceptance on a course as required.
