At Oceanfront Cottage Rentals, we see our vacation homes in the same light. Just like the people on Tybee, each one of our homes is an
individual with its own charms, its own particular environment and feel. What our rental homes do have in common is that all are among the

We don’t officially have a flagship rental home, but if we did, it might just be Heaven by the Sea.
Each room of this four-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home directly on Tybee’s North Beach
was designed with its own character—the house is a world unto itself. The private pool and
waterfall and gorgeous landscaping surround the home, creating a quiet haven of blue and green
all around it. It’s full of pleasant surprises, from the chic décor and entertaining amenities to the
technology seamlessly integrated into the home. For corporate retreats or special events for
friends and family, Heaven by the Sea truly lives up to its name.

The red tile roof, iron gate and stucco accents on this home on Tybee’s North Beach evokes the
area’s Spanish colonial past. The interior, however, is all today and tomorrow. Twenty-first-
century tropicalia is the name of the game at Villa by the Sea, with palms and tropical flowers in
bloom surrounding the private pool and boardwalk to the beach, and subtle, updated décor redo-
lent of a modern take on British East Africa and the old Caribbean. With five bedrooms, three-

The five-bedroom, five-bath Oasis is all about entertaining, Whether you need to entertain in
high style, put out a spread for the beach bums or do both at the same time, Evelyn’s has every-
thing you need. Evelyn’s was built on a historical bunker on Tybee’s North End that used to
guard Savannah’s shipping lanes. It still bristles today—with no guns but a lot more fun. A formal
living room and dining for twelve are set off from a gourmet kitchen and overlook the beach and
Atlantic Ocean, while a downstairs dining setup is decidedly more laid back with an additional
kitchen and seating set among the hot tub, Olympic-sized pool and living areas. The setup makes
it easy to entertain kids of all ages while the grownups get down to business or pleasure upstairs.

Paradise on Tybee is a big three-bedroom, two-bath condo at the DeSoto Beach Club, one of the island’s
most upscale beachside condo communities. From its private, third-floor balcony guests enjoy sunrises
overlooking the recently renourished beach and ocean tides. Later, soak up the midday rays by the pool
and courtyard before heading out to the beach for a late afternoon dip in the ocean. Paradise on Tybee
sleeps as many as ten, making it perfect for large family vacations with kids.

We have more than just beautiful beaches. The island and surrounding area are home to historical landmarks, fragile and unique ecosystems and

rAtes & reservAtions
We offer our homes for rental year round, with lowest rates during the fall and winter off-season. Our rates are based on factors such as size,
location, amenities and popularity. Rentals are available for three, five or seven nights, with a five-night minimum for our peak months of June, July
and August and a four-night minimum for off-season holidays.

Owner Stacye C. Jarrell
Stacye is a South Georgia native from the small town of Pearson. As with any Southern girl, her approach to hospitality came through both nature
and nurture. It was this upbringing, plus her love of the life and people on Tybee Island, that gives Oceanfront Cottage rentals the soul it has today.
The first time Stacye visited Tybee was on a camping trip with her parents when she was in high school. It was love at first
sight. Right away knew she’d end up there living there someday. That moment came sooner rather than later. After graduating
high school outside of Atlanta and graduating from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, she immediately moved to Savannah
and gained her first experience as a property manager. At the tender age of 22, she bought her first home, an old row house in
the historic downtown of the city. She fixed it up and began renting out rooms to students and locals.
Meanwhile, Stacye began a career in advertising and marketing with a pair of local radio stations. The spots she produced for a
popular restaurant chain ended up being used for their national marketing campaign and landed her a job with the company. She
became their director of marketing. Her job was her passion, but when Stacye met the man who would become her husband, her
life rapidly changed. He asked her to quit her job and help him run his law firm. Eventually, she did, and spent 18 years managing
the day-to-day operations of the Savannah firm. Her marketing expertise came in handy helping her husband with the challenge Stacye
of getting the firm’s name out in the days before the Internet.
It was then that Stacye started the business that would become Oceanfront Cottages. From her husband she bought her first home on Tybee, #1
18th St., a home that she still owns and manages today. She bought two more homes and a private island that had belonged to John Wesley, founder
of the Methodist movement, and Jim Williams, the Savannah antiques dealer of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fame and a personal friend
of Stacye’s.
But as her empire grew, events in Stacye’s personal life forced her to rethink her professional approach. Her divorce from her husband left her
without an income and with several properties in need of renovation. She began renting her Tybee homes on the short-term and using the extra
revenue and the slow off-seasons to transform them into fine vacation rentals. Her friends on the island began asking her to rent and manage their
homes as well, and a small operation grew to about 85 homes.
She met her current husband, Lannie Jarrell, through some friends on the island. One of Stacye’s friends wanted to date her ex-husband and set
Stacye up with Lannie as a diversionary tactic. Things didn’t work out between the friend and the ex-husband, but for Stacye, just as it was the first
time she saw Tybee Island, so it was with Lannie—love at first sight. They’ve been married now for nearly a decade. Their marriage has proved
not only a happy one but also a great business relationship; Lannie handles all the construction and renovation work on Oceanfront Cottages. The
tireless work ethic and attention to detail he shares with Stacye make the pair a perfect complement professionally and personally.
Stacye and Lannie live on Tybee Island in a home he designed and built. They enjoy boating, entertaining and each other’s company.
