Summer Camp

Campers have been experiencing our Day Camp programs for more than 34 summers, and we have
planned another fun-packed summer for 2008! Our camps provide a safe, enriching environment, while
offering a variety of stimulating activities. Campers spend time at local forest preserves participating in
camp games, crafts, nature activities, hiking, and boating. Swimming days take place at Moran Water
Park and other local water parks. We will also go on weekly field trips to places like the Kane County
Cougars game, North Ave. Beach, the Museum of Science and Industry, and more!

Adventure Trails Day Camp (Entering Grades 1 – 5)
Campers are grouped together by age. They may request to be in a group with a same-aged friend. All
group activities are age/gender appropriate. Each week, campers spend two days at a local forest
preserve, two days swimming, and go on a field trip.

Fees: TBA

Outpost Day Camp (Entering Grades 6 - 8)
Our older campers experience a more flexible schedule at camp. Activities are less structured and more
flexible than in Adventure Trails, and are better suited for middle-school aged campers. They use the
YMCA vans, which allows for more mini field trips. Session 8 has a overnight campout at Herrick Lake on
Thursday night.

Fees: TBA

Water Exercise

Open to swimmers and non-swimmers, this class is easy on the entire body, without painful side effects
that other sports can inflict. The water‟s buoyancy makes this an excellent therapy program.

Body By God Program, Extreme Makeover

The Tri-Town YMCA is collaborating with Dr. Tim Weselak and Fountain of Life Church to provide an
informational program that will help you shed those excess holiday pounds. The program will meet once
on Saturday, January 12, 2008. Topics covered will include nutrition, exercise, stress management, time
management, and overall health and wellness. Look for more information on our website in the fall or
call the YMCA at (630) 629-9622.

Health and Wellness Workshops

New this year, the YMCA is partnering with the National University of Health Sciences to provide health
related programs and workshops on a variety of topics on health and wellness. Senior health issues will
also be covered in these workshops. Look for more information on these workshops later in the year or
call the YMCA at 629-9622. Stay up to date with all the latest information on the web at
www.tritownymca.org
YMCA Activate America

YMCA Activate America® is the YMCA's bold approach to directly address our nation's growing health
crisis. With this in mind, we have developed an indoor walking program, designed to motivate seniors to
walk regularly, in an environmentally controlled location. A T-shirt will be given to each participant, and
monthly presentations on optimal walking shoes, health screenings and nutrition will be included. This
program is co-sponsored by The Pointe of Lombard.

Please check our website at www.tritwonymca.org, and the local papers for updated information
regarding the start date and location.

Seniors Feelin‟ Good

This is a slower paced coed fitness class designed for seniors who want to maintain flexibility and
mobility without the faster rate of other fitness classes. No floor exercises are done. The class
incorporates the use of chair exercises, exercise bands, light weights and stretching movements. This is
an ongoing class.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00-10:00 AM
Fee: $25 for a 20 visit coupon

Senior Outreach Programs and Solutions
The Tri-Town YMCA can help you network with the right agency. Call Susan at 629-9622 for information
regarding any of the following programs.

Homebound Reading Program
This program is offered in conjunction with the Helen Plum Library, for Lombard residents. Volunteers
deliver books to those who are unable to go themselves. The YMCA interviews the homebound and sets
up a delivery system. If you enjoy reading, and would like to share the experience with seniors who are
homebound, call Susan at 629-9622.

Sunshine Program
YMCA staff and volunteers make daily phone calls to those who are homebound or living alone. This
program is designed to bring a little friendly conversation into each person‟s day and to confirm that
each person is well and needs no assistance. If help is needed, the YMCA can initiate the proper action.
If you, or someone you know, would benefit from this program, please call us. Persons wishing to
participate as a volunteer Sunshine Caller should also contact the YMCA.

Senior Health Insurance Program – SHIP
SHIP certified Volunteers help seniors with Medicare and Supplement insurance problems. They are
trained to help make sense of it and “get it done”. Contact the YMCA for more information, 629-9622.

Cancellations
The YMCA reserves the right to cancel classes due to a lack of minimum registration. Cancellation

registered, to inform them of the cancellation. When possible, we will try to determine an alternative
class time.

Make-up Policy
We will provide a make-up class when possible, if the YMCA cancels the class. Attendance is the
responsibility of the participant. We will not reschedule due to inclement weather or uncontrollable
circumstances. There is no make-up for holidays or closed days at the YMCA.

Program Refund Policy
Fees are not refundable unless the Tri-Town YMCA cancels the class. Anyone withdrawing, prior to the
beginning of the session, will receive a refund, minus a $5.00 service fee. Withdrawal, after the session
begins, must be for a medical reason only, and will be pro-rated. A medical statement must be
presented to receive a refund.
