SHORT SUMMAR Y OF WORK EXPERIENCES
Tanzania, Dodoma City, 2009 – present, Executive Director of Educom Solutions in
partnership with City Planning Officer Isaac Nyambogo Okoth Kissa, Dodoma City
Council, Tanzania.
The overall objective of the project:
“Building the best English Medium School (EMS) in Tanzania”. The EMS School will finally
comprise of nursery levels and exit high school classes, i.e. all pre-university levels.
Preparation of business plan, legal status and location of School in Dodoma Town. Architected
layout and planning of school structures, as well as landscape planning of school area. Fund
raising and financing of school project.

Kosovo, April 2004 - 2009, Team Leader, Niras Sweden AB/Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry
and Rural Development,Kosovo.
The overall objective of the project:
“Improved capability in managing and utilizing the forest resource in a cost efficient and
sustainable manner”.
Team Leader working tasks:
• Overall responsibility for the accomplishment of the project, including administration,
    recruitment of consultants and timing of inputs.
• Plan and formulate a sustainable Kosovo Forestry Education & Training Strategy in
    cooperation with the Kosovo counterparts (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural
    development)
• Define and plan Forestry Vocational Education and organize training of Forest Technicians
    and private forest entrepreneurs;
• Arrange for University training on, MSc and BSc levels at Forestry Faculties in countries
    outside Kosovo;
• Assist the Forestry Training Specialist in implementation of core project activities, e.g. training
    needs assessment & analysis, participatory curriculum development, teacher training and
    training impact evaluation.

The main outputs accomplished:
Upgraded skills of existing personnel:
A Training Needs Assessment study of the private forest sector.
18 training courses in various forestry subjects in the priority areas outlined in the project
document. Altogether 229 persons have participated during 718 course days. In conjunction to
the training courses, 11 training manuals and 10 training folders have been developed.
Five 2-weeks courses in Business Development Planning for 10 participants from the private
sector (2 Kosova -Serbs, 2 Kosova-Albanian), the former Socially Owned Enterprises (4) and
from MAFRD (2). One week study tour to Latvia.

Upgraded opportunities for BSc, MSc and Forest Engineer levels at                 Forest Faculties
abroad.

5 state forest engineers of the state forest staff are in M Sc forestry and Magister forestry studies
at the forest faculties in Tirana, Albania (2); Vienna, Austria (1), Montana, USA (1) and in
Belgrade, Serbia (2). One forest staff has successfully completed his M Sc forestry studies in
Germany and Sweden.
15 forest technicians of the state forest staff are in part-time forest engineering studies at the
Faculty of Forestry, Tirana, Albania.
16 young Kosovars are studying B Sc forestry at universities in Tirana, Albania (3 – 2 have
graduated), Freiburg, Germany (1), Vienna, Austria (8) and in Zagreb, Croatia (3).

A domestic forestry vocational education and training strategy.
The strategy and education plan was worked out in cooperation with a working group of
representatives from Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development (3), Ministry of
Education, Science and Technology (3), Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (3), Chamber of
Commerce (1), Forest Workers Union (1), private forest owners (1), private forest entrepreneurs
(1) and State forest industry (1).
The strategy document, including proposed budget was submitted to Sida, Sweden, in June
2008.
Scholarship program (B Sc/MSc/Forest Engineering) for 25 forest staff and 15 students, Forestry
Vocational Education and Training Strategy, Forest Curriculum forest undergraduate level, A

Project Management of VI Agroforestry Project in miombo woodland areas at Lake Victoria
(June1999- December 2000). Introduction of agroforestry and ecologically sound land husbandry
activities at village level. Participatory curricula development of training programme for project
staff. Responsible for a central staff of 15 people, Secretariat, Training, Monitoring and Seed
Sections, and more than 100 Agroforestry Extension Staff stationed at a corresponding number of
villages. Responsible for setting up an institutional framework for education of agroforestry
personnel within the project and to develop agroforestry training curriculum and a continuous
project monitoring system.
Agroforestry Training Specialist in The Vi Agroforestry Project in Mwanza, Tanzania, (January
2001 thru June 2001). Responsible for the training syllabus and training in agroforestry pracitices
and communication skills of the project staff. The training was conducted for training personnel,
training of trainers, at the project head office, as well as for the field personnel of more than 100
extension officers stationed in villages within the project area in Mwanza region.

staff of The Swedish National Forest Inventory Team, at the Swedish University of Agricultural

was oriented towards improved Forest inventory methods and updating the skill of the field staff
with respect to various elements of the National Forest Inventory tasks. Developing and teaching
