Federal, State and Local Government Agencies / Representatives Page 1 of 7 Primary Job Purpose: To contribute proactively to the Nambucca Pride Cafe project and provide operational leadership and management in the delivery of this project achieving market leadership and ensuring contractual compliance in all areas and levels of service delivery within the designated area Achieve and exceed key business performance and financial objectives for the Nambucca Pride Cafe project through effective and efficient implementation and monitoring of management systems and effective utilisation of assets, human and other resources Ensure Nambucca Pride functions collaboratively and maximises opportunities for NORTEC’s Job Services Australia, commercial recruitment (Labour Hire and Temp Services) and Training Services business streams Exhibit proactive and contemporary leadership behaviours and role modelling in alignment to NORTEC’s Vision, Mission and Values to both external and internal stakeholders at all times. Page 2 of 7 Manager – Nambucca Pride Cafe - Key Responsibilities and Performance Requirements Key Result Area (KRA) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Business Results – Financial: Indicators: - In collaboration with Nambucca Pride Leadership team actively participate in the development of an annual operational and capital budget for Nambucca Pride Cafe - Nambucca Pride monthly and annual projected budget indicators achieved or exceeded - Nambucca Pride monthly financial review, analysis and corrective recommendations reported to Nambucca Pride Leadership team - Nambucca Pride budget review conducted in collaboration with Corporate Services Manager and Nambucca Pride Leadership team - Nambucca Pride financial targets are proactively and regularly reviewed and revised against Divisional and Company requirements in collaboration with Nambucca Pride Leadership Team Business Results – Indicators: Operational: - In collaboration with Nambucca Pride leadership team establish performance milestones, communicated to Staff and achieve or exceed Jobs Fund requirements - Provision of monthly reports detailing achievement against designated targets and providing analysis and corrective recommendations to Nambucca Pride leadership team - Demonstrated collaboration with other NORTEC Managers and Staff towards ensuring Jobs Fund operational objectives compliment and support achievement of allied Company business stream targets including Labour Hire and Training Services Unit. - No evidence of non-compliance with Jobs Fund contract and Guideline requirements - Ensure full utilisation of training places by collaboration between NORTEC JSA staff and external referral sources - Ensure retention of training participants for duration of training course in collaboration with mentors, counsellors and JSA staff. - Strategy & Planning Indicators: Processes: - Develop and monitor Risk Management Plan for Nambucca Pride Cafe - Promote, drive and execute effective strategy and opportunity identification, development and implementation that contributes to Nambucca Pride Cafe success - Regular meetings and discussion with Nambucca Pride leadership team on performance and practice review and improvement events conducted throughout year supporting continuous improvement and knowledge development of Cafe staff and work experience participants Page 3 of 7 Customer & Market Focus: Indicators: - Proactive development and maintenance of internal and external relationships and communication channels contributing to effective and efficient Nambucca Pride Cafe performance - Active contribution towards Nambucca Pride Marketing Plan and monitoring thereof with planned Nambucca Pride marketing activities implemented within budget and on time in all instances through effective liaison with NORTEC Marketing Personnel - Effective implementation and monitoring of evaluation systems providing data and information regarding return on investment (ROI) and continuous improvement for marketing related strategies or activities achieved through effective and collaborative liaison with NORTEC Marketing Personnel - Ensure implementation of stakeholder feedback mechanisms for and by all relevant service touch points associated with Nambucca Pride Cafe supporting management decision making - Promote training graduates to prospective employers to obtain employment outcomes - Leadership & Innovation: Indicators: - Provide proactive and collaborative contribution to the development and ongoing effective performance of the Nambucca Pride Cafe team - Ongoing identification and reporting of business development or improvement innovations that support Nambucca Pride performance viability and sustainability forwarded to Nambucca Pride Leadership team - Appropriate leadership behaviour role modelling at all times as endorsed by overall above satisfactory rating achieved in annual performance appraisal process Data, Information & Indicators: Knowledge: - Assess performance against monthly, quarterly and annual financial and operational performance progress, including identified variances and corrective recommendations. - Ongoing customer and client service satisfaction surveys indicate overall above satisfactory rating levels in regard to cafe performance - Work collaboratively with the Nambucca Pride Project leadership team to implement effective information sharing strategies ensuring staff (and Company personnel where appropriate) are aware and have input towards progress against key result area targets and objectives. - People: Indicators; - Individual performance agreements and performance Page 4 of 7 assessment and evaluation tools implemented for key reporting Nambucca Pride staff capturing individual and team performance indicator achievement against agreed performance KPI’s and targets - Ensure monthly documented individual performance review meetings conducted with key Nambucca Pride staff reviewing progress against individual performance agreement KPI’s and targets and work plan progress and planning - Ensure appropriate management of trainers, mentors and training and work experience participants, - Execute appropriate policy referenced performance counselling with staff as required - Promotion of and adherence to NORTEC HR and OH&S policies and procedures at all times. Page 5 of 7 Duty Statement Planning 1. Establish and monitor progress towards Nambucca Pride Site and Individual performance targets and Key Performance Indicators 2. Actively contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of annual Nambucca Pride Business Plan 3. Liaise with Company Marketing Personnel to implement Nambucca Pride Marketing Plan including advertising, promotions, publicity and public relations events 4. Actively participate in Company based planning activities, including risk management, strategic and business planning cycles Leading 1. In liaison with Nambucca Pride Cafe Leadership Team, promote personal and professional development of team work, cooperation and mutual respect within the team through active role modelling and implementation of structured development activities 2. Work collaboratively with other members of the Nambucca Pride Leadership Team to achieve overall business goals 3. Actively promote NORTEC services to local employers, community based organisations and industries through attendance at relevant business forums and networking activities and for Nambucca Pride promotional dinners. Organising 1. Ensure ongoing development and adherence to Nambucca Pride policies and procedures in alignment with Health Department and Council requirements and Work Cover regulations 2. Supervise and coordinate the provision of day to day operational management and guidance to Nambucca Pride Cafe staff 3. Establish meeting cycles and communication strategies / channels to optimise information sharing and consistency between Nambucca Pride operational Staff and trainees Controlling 1. Monitor and report monthly to Nambucca Pride Leadership Team operational and budget activity, providing corrective recommendations to address budget or operational variances 2. Ensure effective and efficient coordination of Nambucca Pride assets and human resources Other 1. Participate in ongoing Company development activities as requested such as working parties, staff meetings, policy and procedure review, enterprise development 2. Occasional attendance at meetings / training or conferences outside of normal business hours as requested Page 6 of 7 Key Selection Criteria Essential: 1. Minimum 3 years Management experience in hospitality and/or retail 2. Demonstrated highly developed planning, organisational and financial management skills 3. Proven capacity to achieve results and performance targets through effective team building strategies 4. Knowledge and understanding of the Nambucca Aboriginal community 5. Demonstrated awareness of issues faced by unemployed people and the interventions required to assist them towards training, work or career goals 6. Demonstrated understanding of: workplace health and safety/food hygiene standards, and specific acts and legislation that apply to operating food premises Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and network with diverse stakeholder groups 7. Proven capacity and experience in contributing to successful marketing strategies, campaigns and / or activities Desirable: 1. Comprehensive knowledge of Nambucca local labour market 2.
