St. Petersburg College – Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration with a Specialization Track in Emergency Administration and Management St. Petersburg College, Southeastern Public Safety Institute, has developed a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Public Safety Administration with a Specialization Track in Emergency Administration and Management. The B.A.S. in Public Safety Administration is scheduled to begin evening classroom based courses January 2005 and is anticipated to offer on-line beginning in May 2005. Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration: Admission requires an A.S. Degree of sixty (60) credits in a public safety discipline with at least fifteen (15) credit hours in transferable general education credits and current certification in the field. Students may be admitted with an A.A. Degree with approval by the Dean. If general education hours for an A.A. Degree have been completed, the student must complete twenty-four (24) credits in a single public safety major in place of additional general education required for the A.S. student. Lower Division Requirements: General Education Credits (15-21 credits) Upper Division Requirements: An additional 15-21 general education credits are required to complete the thirty-six (36) general education requirements. NOTE: Completion of the College Level Academics Skill Test (CLAST), unless exempted, is required. If you have not completed two years of the same foreign language in high school or 8 credits in college, you will need to complete 8 credits f foreign language before completing the BAS Program.
