College of Lake County – Certificate in Emergency Management The College of Lake County is offering a Certificate in Emergency Management. The program is designed to provide a foundation for emergency management activities for different types of hazards: natural, technological, and homeland security. The Certificate program is of interest to emergency management practitioners, emergency responders, private agencies such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army, the private business and industrial companies, and the general public. The Certificate in Emergency Management will consist of 5 courses, 3 credits hours each for a total of 15 credit hours. FEMA course materials used will be enhanced with other resources. Courses are as follows: EDM-111 Introduction to Emergency Management (3 credits) EDM-112 Emergency Planning (3 credits) EDM-113 Professional Development (3 credits) EDM-114 Communications in Emergency Management (3 credits) EDM-211 Emergency and Disaster Response (3 credits) Courses are offered in both online and classroom versions. College of Lake County is accredited by the Higher Learning Council and is a member of the North Central Association.
