Norwalk Community College – Non-Credit Emergency Management Program
Norwalk Community College, Department of Extended Studies and Workforce Education have developed a non-credit emergency management program. Students will be prepared with knowledge in basic emergency management procedures and understand the organizational and technological components of disaster management. In an effort to prepare community officials and those in the private sector Norwalk Community College is offering several non-credit emergency management courses delving into areas of community emergency response, mitigation, political relationships during an emergency, disaster legislation, and disaster and emergency planning. Non-credit courses in emergency management offered Fall 2003 are as follows: Community Emergency Response Team Disaster and Emergency Management Disaster Law and Liability Issues Disaster Planning and Mitigation Emergency Planning Intergovernmental and Intergovernmental Relations in Emergency Management Overview of Hazards and Emergency Management in the United States Private Sector Firms and Non-profit Sector Agencies in Emergency Management Norwalk Community College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
