Community College of Rhode Island – Emergency/Disaster Management Program Certificate The Community College of Rhode Island is offering an Emergency/Disaster Management Certificate program. The program focus is on the needs of the community at-large with a specific focus providing an emergency disaster management knowledge base to individuals in many fields. The program is designed for law enforcement, fire service, hospital personnel, business, security personnel, risk managers and government officials. The program addresses the beginning level practitioner skill and knowledge requirements. The Emergency/Disaster Management Certificate program requires students to complete eighteen program credits. Emergency/Disaster Management Certificate curriculum: Fundamentals of Emergency Management (3 credits) Understanding Terrorism (3 credits) Or Basic Concepts of Emergency Preparedness for Bioterrorism (3 credits) Natural Disasters (3 credits) Technical Writing (3 credits) Disaster Response Operations and Management (3 credits) Civilian and First Responders Impact from Disasters (3 credits) Or Practicum/Externship (3 credits) The Community College of Rhode Island is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc.
