Business Continuity – Why Bother?
Thursday 1st November 2007 Cedar Court Hotel, Denby Dale Road, Wakefield, WF4 3QZ
Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a fascinating area. Organisations may be forgiven for assuming that whilst the impact of a major event occurring may be high, the actual likelihood of an event occurring may be so remote that there often seems to be little point in spending time and effort on detailed planning. And anyway, isn‟t this what insurance is for? Conversely, in a world where incidents such as 9/11, 7/7 and the Asian Tsunami appear to be coming more and more commonplace, can any organisation afford not to plan for the worst? This morning seminar will be a „round table discussion‟ for individuals interested in BCM to meet and to discuss their views on whether, and how, to implement a robust, value-adding Business Continuity Framework that is capable of delivering when required, without becoming an administrative and costly burden on the organisation. George Quigley, a partner with BDO Stoy Hayward LLP specialising in Business and Technology Risk, will facilitate a fully participative workshop which will demand active input from all attendees. George will be posing ten questions for discussion and debate aimed at answering the question “Business Continuity – Why Bother”.
