                                  HR Projects & Process Manager

About the job
   CSIR Shared Services has a vacancy for an HR Projects & Process Manager in its
   Human Resources Department. The incumbent will be involved in the management of all
   Human Resources (HR) projects and provide project and change management support
   and intervention to all areas within Human Resources, thus ensuring that functions
   operate in an integrated, effective and efficient manner. The incumbent will also be
   responsible for implementing a framework for the HR Information System business
   process mapping and improvement in support of the all areas of the HR function. This
   position is based in Pretoria.

Job description:
   • Manage a portfolio of HR projects ensuring that these are delivered on time, on
      budget and that quality standards are achieved.
   • Align organisational strategy with project implementation and execution in a project
      driven manner.
   • Define deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project and
      manage their development and delivery (Project charter, plan, risks and barrier
   • Monitor and evaluate the phases of the project as it relates to scoping, assessing,
      analysing, determining future / desired state, gap analysis and produce review and
      recommendation reports.
   • Plan and estimate all HR projects from start to finish, with built in contingencies
      including overall quality assurance, risk management and status reporting.
   • Identify appropriate key domain specialists and resources in operating units of the
      CSIR to take part in the project.
   • Provide the structure and guidance necessary to prepare the organisation for the
      successful acceptance of cultural change associated with major HR project
      implementation, process changes, system changes and implementation of new
   • Implement a framework for business to provide a foundation for defining, improving
      and managing HR business activities and processes.
   • Implement methodology and standards for business process mapping.
   • Identify core business process owners and processes including HR Information
      System (HRIS) processes and maps.
   • Standardise and improve processes with application of Lean Six Sigma principles
      according to CSIR business rules, policies and procedures. Document inefficiencies
      or gaps in existing processes and recommend specific and innovative changes to
      effect improved efficiencies. Perform data collection and analysis to assess process
   • Evaluate and recommend improvement / changes to management.

     •     Lead business process change interventions, consultation and communications with
           all stakeholders.
     •     Identify business process risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
     •     Benchmark processes against best practices and recommend improvement
     •     Focus on common standards for data, reports, processes and procedures for
           improvement of all HR processes.
     •     Compile and pubilish HR process manual.

Qualifications, skills and experience
  • A degree in a related field and a post graduate qualification in Project Management /
       Business Information Systems
  • Five to ten years’ project management experience
  • Five to ten years’ HRIS business process analysis, mapping & management
