					CREATIVE WRITING                      Lindsay Stanberry-Flynn will combine discussion of writing techniques, writing exercises and
workshopping individual work to provide feedback and support. Look at key techniques such as characterisation, plot development and
point of view, the group will be considering language and style; heightening tension and conflict; adding texture to writing; the art of
talk and taking risks with writing.
Fortnightly on Mondays £60 (6 weeks) 17 January , 31 January, 14 February, 28 February, 14 March and 28 March

POTTERY          Coiling, slab building, throwing on the wheel, glazes and firing in our own kiln. Beginners
are welcome. Get stuck in and grasp the undoubtedly ther apeutic aspects of handling the clay and working
the artistry of glazes!
                                                                        Wednesdays and Fridays £110 (11 weeks)


ART - WATER COLOURS            For beginners and improvers. Colours, sketches and washes abound, with
the opportunity to sometimes paint in The Guildhouse itself, and outside in the gardens and experience the
panoramic views.

MOSAICS
An introduction to historical and contemporary techniques of mosaics, including a project to design and create a personal work of art for
your home or garden! Beginners are welcome. Materials available from the tutor, at around £10 per square foot.

ADVENTURES IN PAINTING               Develop your skills and experiment with fresh materials in a new Monday afternoon class. Materials
to include: Pastels, Acrylic and Oils. Improve all aspects of your drawing technique. Develop an understanding of Art History.
Involving a series of tasks which will allow both the beginner and the more experienced practitioner to thrive and develop.

WOODWORK        Beginners select simple projects then learn the basics of design, marking, sawing, planing
and joining and the use and care of tools. T he more experienced also receive individual tuition and advice
for their chosen projects and MARQUETRY: Using wood veneers to create patterns and pictures.
                                       Tuesdays £115 for 2.5hrs class, Wednesdays £138 for 3hrs class (11 weeks)

WOODCARVING A w o n d e r f u l l y c r e a t i v e , e x p r e s s i v e a n d p r e c i s e a r t . C o a c h i n g f o r t r a d i t i o n a l a n d a b s t r a c t
forms, learning to work with natural wood and work with its qualities. Teaching includes c are of chisels
and shaping tools.

FURNITURE RESTORATION              Bring a small piece of furniture (no storage available) and learn the
restoration techniques of identifying and detailing the piece, dismantling and repairing, then more
specialised skills of stripping, re -polishing and/or French polishing.

 WOODTURNING FOR BEGINNERS Thursday evenings                           Learn how to craft woods to full advantage and produce a
wonderful range of exquisite everyday and unique items on the lathes. This will be a small mixed ability class. Students who have
some experience will work alongside absolute beginners – all are welcome to join.

STAINED GLASS AND KILN-FIRED GLASS
Make stained glass pieces using traditional techniques for cutting glass, leading, soldering to produce an
individual panel! Beginners and improvers welcome. Kiln fired glass ~ create designed pieces using colour
and texture, learning to incorporate diverse materials. Your panels are then kiln -fired and the results
themselves can be put to great effect, for practical use, art or gift ideas. Beginners welcome. Please see

                                This is open to all members of the community from 15 to 95! Meeting monthly on
Thursdays 1030- 1200. Groups are self-led. Each meeting can be viewed as a social event built around
tea ‘n lit’! Drinks provided by us. A termly cost of £10 pp is all that is requested, to contribute to
refreshment costs, stationery and Trust administration.                Ring for title of current book choice.
