                                              History of ARDA:

The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) is the professional trade association
representing the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Established in 1969, ARDA today
has members ranging from privately held firms to publicly traded companies and international corporations
with expertise in shared ownership interests in leisure real estate. The membership also includes timeshare
owner associations (HOAs), resort management companies and owners through the ARDA Resort Owners
Coalition (ARDA-ROC).
ARDA is committed to the prosperity and global expansion of the vacation industry, with a primary
focus on education, research, legislative representation, and public and consumer advocacy.
The website asks if you would like to submit your timeshare memory, funny story, or anecdote. To
share what you think has changed over the past 40 years or to help us reach out to original owners. The
website also asks that if any old attendees have pictures from early ARDA Conventions or parties to please
send them and there’s a link on there to send them through the ARDA.org website.
