Contest rules

    1. The What's Your Savings Goal? contest - Facebook is organized by the Fédération des
       caisses Desjardins du Québec (hereinafter "the Fédération") and runs from Thursday,
       January 13, 2011 at 12:01 a.m. (EST) to Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11:59 p.m.


    2. This contest is open exclusively to residents of Quebec that are 18 years or older on
       January 13, 2011 (hereinafter "participants"). Participants must be registered for

The following persons are not eligible to enter this contest:
Employees, managers and administrators of the Fédération, of the Fédération des caises
populaires de l'Ontario Inc., of their members caisses, of Desjardins Credit Union Inc., of their
subsidiaries, of the Lg2 advertising agency, and persons who reside with any of these persons
during the contest period or at the time of the draw, if applicable.

How to enter

    3. Participants must successfully complete the following steps:

       Visit the Desjardins Group Facebook page (
       Read these contest rules.
       Click on the "Concours" tab.
       Click on "Participer."
       Allow the contest application access your basic information. The contest organizer will
        not use or keep a record of this information.
       Click on "English" for the English version.
       Enter their first name, last name, phone number and a savings goal (e.g. "I'm saving to
        retire when I turn 55.") in less than 100 characters (including spaces; hereinafter "goal").
       Click on "Enter."
       One contest entry per person. Any person who participates using several different
        Facebook accounts will be disqualified.
       Note that using a fake name or an invalid e-mail address will also automatically disqualify
        the participant.
       Participants cannot use coarse, foul, abusive language or enter a goal which could
        adversely affect the Desjardins brand or which is deemed insulting or offensive by the
        contest organizers. In any such case, the participant will be disqualified.

 Facebook is a registered trademark owned by Facebook Inc. Facebook Inc. is not affiliated with
Desjardins Group and is not a sponsor of, or affiliated with, this promotion in any way. This
promotion is in no way administered or sponsored by Facebook. You are providing information to
Desjardins and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used by Desjardins for
contest administration purposes. Participants agree not to hold Facebook liable for anything

   4. 3 prizes of $1,000 in cash.

   5. Winners will be determined by a random draw among all eligible entries received during
      the contest period. The draw will be held on March 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. (EST) in the office
      of the Fédération in Montreal.
         Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the contest

General conditions

   6. To be declared a winner, the selected participant must:
    be contacted by phone by the contest organizers within fourteen (14) days following the
      end of the contest or the draw, as the case may be;

        confirm that he or she meets the eligibility criteria and other requirements in these rules;

        correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question by phone, without assistance and
         within a limited time;

        sign the declaration and liability form that will be mailed to the winner and return it to the
         contest organizers within ten (10) days of receipt.

   Failure to meet any of the abovementioned conditions or any other condition herein, the
   selected person will be disqualified and another draw will be held in keeping with these
   contest rules until a participant is selected and declared the prize winner. The same
   conditions apply when making required changes, if applicable.

        Within fifteen (15) days of receiving the signed declaration form, contest organizers will
         inform the winner by mail on how to take possession of the prize. Refusal to accept the
         prize by the selected person releases contest organizers from any and all obligations
         regarding the awarding of the prize to this participant. In this case and at their sole
         discretion, contest organizers may determine a new winner.

   7. Vérification. Eligible entries and declaration forms are subject to verification by the
      contest organizers. Any eligible entry or declaration form that is, as the case may be,
      incomplete, illegible, mutilated, fraudulent, obtained from unauthorized sources,
      submitted late, or is otherwise non-compliant, can be rejected and will not entitle to an
      entry or to a prize, as the case may be.

   8. Disqualification. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify a person or to
      cancel one or more entries of a person who participates or attempts to participate in this
      contest using methods that do not comply with these rules or that are unfair to other
      participants (e.g. entries in excess of the permitted number). Such a person may be
      reported to the appropriate legal authorities.

   9. Conduct of the contest. Any attempt to sabotage the legitimate conduct of the contest
      constitutes a violation of civil and criminal laws. In the event of such attempts, the contest
    organizers reserve the right to reject the participant’s entries and seek redress under the

10. Acceptation of prize. The prize must be accepted as described in these rules and may
    not, in any case, be transferred, in whole or in part, to another person, replaced by
    another prize or exchanged for cash, except as otherwise provided for in these rules.

11. Prize substitution. In the event that it is impossible, difficult or more expensive to award
    the prize described herein, the contest organizers reserve the right to award a similar
    prize of equivalent value, or at their sole discretion, the cash value of the prize indicated

12. Limitation of liability: use of prize. By entering this contest, prize winners release the
    Fédération, its member caisses and any other Desjardins entity from any and all liability,
    damages, harm or loss that may arise from receipt or use of a prize.

13. Limitation of liability: conduct of the contest. The Fédération, its member caisses and
    any other Desjardins entity shall not be held liable for any of the following that may limit
    or prevent any person from reading the contest rules: malfunction of any computer
    component, software or communication line, loss or lack of network communication or
    any transmission that is faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible or erased by any computer
    or network. They shall not be held liable for any damage or loss that may be caused,
    directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the downloading of any Web page, software,
    etc., or by the transmission of any information related to participation in the contest.
    Specifically, if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the
    contest is corrupted or seriously affected by a computer virus, bugs, tampering, non-
    authorized interventions, fraud, technical failures or any other cause, the Fédération
    reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the contest at its sole
    discretion without prior notice (subject to approval by the Régie des alcools des courses
    et des jeux du Québec).

    Participants acknowledge and agree that the Facebook website is not property of the
    Fédération and is not operated by it.

14. Limitation of liability: entries. The Fédération, its member caisses and any other
    Desjardins entity shall not be held liable for lost or misdirected entries.

15. Limitation of liability: situation beyond the organizers’ control. The Fédération, its
    member caisses and any other Desjardins entity shall not be held liable in any manner
    whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act is the result of an event or
    circumstance that is beyond their control, or of a strike, lockout or any other labour
    dispute in the establishments of the organizations or firms whose services and facilities
    are used to hold this contest.

16. Contest modification. The Fédération reserves the right, at its entire discretion, to
    cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, should human
    intervention or an event occur that could alter or affect the administration, security,
    impartiality or conduct of the contest as provided for in these rules, subject to approval by
    the Régie des alcools des courses et des jeux du Québec, if required.

17. Termination of participation in the contest. If participation in the contest must be
    terminated, in whole or in part, for whatever reason, before the closing date provided in
    these contest rules, the contest organizers may proceed, at their sole discretion, with the
    draw among the entries duly received and registered up to the date of the event ending
    participation in the contest.
18. Prize limit. In no event shall the contest organizers be required to award more prizes
    than indicated in these contest rules or to award a prize otherwise than in compliance
    with these contest rules.

19. Limitation of liability: participation in the contest. Persons who participate or attempt
    to participate in this contest agree to be bound by these rules and release the Fédération,
    its member caisses and any other Desjardins entity from any and all liability for damages
    these persons may incur as a result of their participation or attempted participation in the

20. Authorization. By participating in this contest, the prize winner authorizes the
    Fédération, its member caisses and any other Desjardins entity to use, if required, their
    name, photo, image, voice, amount of the prize, place of residence and/or statement
    regarding the prize for publicity purposes, without any form of compensation.

21. Personal information. The personal information gathered on participants during this
    contest shall be used solely to administer the contest. No communication, commercial or
    otherwise, that is not related to the contest shall be sent to participants, unless
    participants have otherwise given their consent.

22. Contest organizers’ decision. Any decision by the contest organizers or their
    representatives regarding the contest is final and without appeal, subject to a ruling by
    the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec on any issue under its

23. Dispute. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a
    publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for
    ruling. Any dispute respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only
    for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

24. Severability of sections. If a section of the contest rules is declared or deemed illegal,
    unenforceable or invalid by a competent court, this section shall be considered invalid,
    but all other sections will be applied within the limits of the law.

    French version shall prevail.
