					An Easy Way To Soothe Stress
Hey,listen up. It's time to relax, chill out, and release those pent-up
physical, mental and emotional tensions. When dealing with everyday
stress and the probability of stress build-up, NOW is always the right
time to be proactive; to beat stress before it beats you.

Think of stress as a silent enemy. It can sneak up on you at any time and
get you down before you even realize what's happening. More often than
not stress is accompanied by it's close companion: higher levels of
anxiety.

So, what do you do?

You take action, that's what. Your very first line of defence is to
establish a habit of performing a regular relaxation routine. Getting
into a deep state of relaxation induces calmness to soothe your body,
your mind and your emotions.

And what is a state of calmness?

It's the exact opposite of stress and anxiety. As a matter of fact, you
could call it the antidote to stress and anxiety.

Start using this antidote. Take time out at least twice every day to do
the relaxation routine outlined below. Regard this as your quality time;
a time for you and you alone. Start thinking calm, feeling calm, and
being calm.

Relaxation Routine

1. Lie down, or sit in a comfortable armchair or recliner.

2. Take a deep breath and hold it for about five seconds. Release that
breath slowly, and imagine all feelings of stress and tension leaving
your body as you release the air. When the air has left your lungs, hold
your breath once again for about five seconds before breathing in. As you
breathe in imagine your body and mind filling with calmness.

3. Repeat this cycle of breathing a number of times until your breathing
falls in a nice long, slow gentle rhythm. Allow a comfortable pause at
the end of each inhalation and exhalation.

4. As you maintain the relaxing rhythm of your breathing, bring your
attention to the top of your head. Imagine that all the tiny muscles in
your scalp are being soothed and massaged by warm invisible hands.

5. Feel the warm hands massaging around your ears and down along the back
of your neck to the tops of your shoulders.

6. Now bring your attention to your forehead. Feel those invisible
fingers smoothing away any wrinkles that may be in your forehead.
7. Next, focus on your eyes. Imagine the warm fingers gentle massaging
all around your eyes. Feel the relaxing warmth from the fingers spreading
throughout your eyes; feel your eyes relaxing and letting go of all
tensions.

8. Think of the soothing hands massaging the rest of your face. Notice
how your lower jaw relaxes and notice how this cosy, warm feeling of
relaxation spreads into your tongue.

9. Check your breathing once again to make sure it's rhythm is long and
slow.

10. Now bring your attention to the invisible hands and imagine them
massaging and loosening your shoulders and shoulder blades. Imagine what
it would be like if waves of relaxation were flowing down along your arms
and into your fingertips.

11. Those massaging hands now work on your back. They soothe and loosen
the muscles on either side of your spine, and then stroke smoothly down
along the vertebrae.

12. Imagine what it would be like to feel a state of deep relaxation
seeping downwards into your legs and feet. Imagine how all the muscles in
your legs and feet would go loose and limp.

13. Allow feelings of deep relaxation and calmness to immerse your body
and your mind.

14. Feel yourself drifting deeper and deeper into pleasurable feelings of
calmness and tranquillity.

Natural Stress Management: Howsoever Powerful May Be The Storm-It Has To
Pass!
The pronouncement of the very word natural, takes some stress out of your
personality. The chances of harmful side effects in natural management in
any area, are remote. This assurance is great and likely to have a
soothing effect on one's personality.

Do not think that your stress is something special and none has
experienced the type of stress that you are undergoing. Each individual
lives with a moderate level of stress. Some exhibit it, cry about it,

space of two years, that ex-driver is owning four vehicles, including a
tempo, for carrying cargo. From the rented one room flat, he has shifted
to his two bed-room flat. Initially, after termination of his services,
he was having a revengeful attitude against his former employer. How the
advice of his level headed friend brought to him, rich dividends!


2. Examination Failures. Failure in an examination is not a failure in
life. You can always try again. Those who score extra percentage, need
not be extra brilliant! Suppose you are not brilliant in studies- you may
be cut out for business, where you may gain astounding success. All that
is in your hands is to make sincere efforts. Take care of the means-the
ends will take care of themselves!

3. After the retirement. The senior citizen, unfortunately, is only given
lip-sympathy, he has many problems. His earnings have dwindled, his
physical strength is not the same, he has no chair-power, through which
he commanded lots of influence. A lot of understanding is required, and
all the natural stress management techniques will have to play positive
roles here. You were once the the master in acquiring things, now be the
willing human being to give up things, one by one. Otherwise, you would
be the cause of your own stressful living.

How to Concentrate in 4 Magic Steps
One of the main problems that deter a person's success is their lack of
concentration. Lapses encourage disturbances to get in the way and stall

imperative they learn how to concentrate. Here, we show you some easy to
learn exercises that are easy to implement.

1) Silence or Noise:
Most people cannot concentrate when it is too noisy, but others work
better with music or others in the midst of a crowded room. If you are
not aware as yet what best suits you, then try out the different
environments. How? Take a notepad and a pencil or pen with you and try
and write down a letter in all the three circumstances in a set amount of
time. Ten minutes. That is all you will need to determine where your
source of concentration lies. How? Check not only for length but also for
development as that is more important.
2) Focal Point:
Every morning, before you leave for work or on the way, stare at any
object for ten minutes. You can do this while in the toilet, car or bus.
You will find this difficult, but whatever happens, do not move your gaze
away. Hold it. Wait. And then, as the minutes pass you will find yourself
deeply meditating about things that happened to you yesterday or
challenges you have to face in a few minutes. Congratulations. You have
just conquered the art of meditation.


3) Deep Breathing:
In the beginning, you can do this while staring at the object from tip
number two, but if you wish to move towards real concentration, do this
separetly. Sit down on the floor. If its hard, place a cushion. Close
your eyes. Breathe. Count the number of inhales. When you have reached
100, start counting backwards but this time count the exhales. Mastering
this will take you a while, but once you do move on to other kinds of
mathemathical calculations such as naming the months of the year from
December backwards or alphabetically. After that, make up exercises as
you like.

4) Movement:
Focus on an animal: cat, dog or even ant or bird. Follow their every
movement as if they exist in a vaccumm. Study every tiny spot on their
body. The point of this is to learn how to diversify your concentration
in such a way that movement does not deter you from your goal.

Conclusion:
Practice the above four tips and like magic, you will start enjoying life
to its fullest because you will be able to focus on the things you want
to focus on and disregard those that disrupt. Practive the above tips

The functions of the right and left brain are only a small portion of the
potential that comprises THE MIND. The mind and the brain are two very
different things. You can think of the brain as the hard drive of the
computer and the mind as the software. Your mind is the intelligence that
is in every cell, every system and every organ of your body. It is that
intangible, incredible, and awe-inspiring part of you that thinks,
remembers, sorts information, makes judgments, forms habits, discerns,

Your mind takes in all information through the five senses (sight, touch,
hearing, smell and taste). You can liken the five senses to the keyboard

information. A genius knows how to access that information and then apply
it in discovering the solutions to any problems that may arise. It is
therefore essential that you discover your own individual style for
gathering and communicating information.
Some of us process sensory input more effectively through visual means,
others through auditory stimuli, and others through a kinesthetic (a
touch or feel) approach. Here's a very simple way to begin to contemplate
which way your genius accesses information. Imagine for a moment that you
are buying a new item of clothing for an important meeting. Would you be
most influenced to buy primarily for a) the color and style of the
outfit; b) the benefits the salesperson tells you about the clothing; c)
the texture and feel of the fabric. If you chose "A", your brain receives
information primarily through visual means. If you chose "B", you

I am under stress right now. Please don't bother me. I am facing real bad
stress at my work place. Please tell me what can be done? Our

the very thing you do not want to do. Try to "let go" of the thought and
replace it with a positive belief or image.
2. Visualization - Clinical evidence shows that physical changes clearly
happen when people practice imagery regularly. Creating a mental image in
your mind is a very powerful practice to use in the morning when you get
up and at night before you go to sleep. Start by relaxing with music or
in silence and create an image of a peaceful place. Then envision in your
mind what you want to happen. "I am totally relaxed, I will wake-up with
the solution to my problem, I will sleep soundly all night." If you
practice this technique frequently, you can instill these messages into

through your nose and expel it slowly and completely through your mouth.
You will feel your belly flatten. Exhale fully, drawing in your abdomen.
At the end of each third exhalation, hold your breath for as long as you
can. Then repeat the process two or three times, or until you feel
sleepy.

8. Take Action - Rather than worry, re-live the situation over and over
or spend sleepless nights thinking about the consequences, take some
action to move the issue forward. Talk to a friend, get a therapist,
journal… just do something. Procrastination weakens productivity,
compounds your anxiety and causes the stressful side-effects of guilt,
anger and low self-esteem.

Life Advice: A Lost Friend Speaks


When my friend sensed that in a few weeks the light of life was about to
be extinguished, and that there was no more hope for him, he called me to
his side and said, "If only I had lived my life differently, I might not
have felt such an emptiness now. Promise me," he caught my hand, "Promise
me that you won't make the same mistake." And when I asked him what
mistakes, he asked me to get a pen and paper and to jot down his last
words. Here they are in condensed form:

1) Talk less; listen more.

2) Listen to your grandfather's stories about his youth. When he's gone,
you will relive the bond through these memories.

3) Invite friend over for a snack or dinner even if the house is a mess.

4) Eat popcorn in the living room even though its messy.

5) Invite the friends who have children home. Don't worry about their
children creating a mess.

6) Sit on the grass even though it dirties your pants.

7) Never buy something just because it lasts for a long time or because
it is practical.

8) Stay in bed and at home when sick and stop pretending that the world
cannot go one without me for a day.

9) Light up the wonderfully crafted candles and let them burn out. Better
this than they accumulate dust in the closet.

10) Share life's responsibilities with a partner, not only expenses.

11) (Meant for Women) Instead of waiting for the pregnancy to get over,
cherish each moment in your heart. Understand that the life in you is the

12) Let your children hug and kiss you whenever they wish to. Don't stop
them by saying things like: later, go wash your hands first, we have to
eat dinner.

13) Say the following two phrases as often as possible: "I love you" and
"I am sorry."
14) Stop worrying about who loves or and who doesn't or about what others
have or don't have.

15) Cherish all personal human relations.

16) Play with a pet every day. Laugh and run with it and take part in all
its antics.

17) Spend more time with the people who love you.

18) Stop sweating because of all the small details and problems of life.

19) Grab every moment, look at it and live it. That moment will never
return again.

Her name was Susan, and she had one six year old daughter. Susan taught
me these few basic ideals that I have tried to follow in honour of her

Lighting up the FIRE OF VITAL FORCE via KUNDALINI WORSHIP


The activation and movement of Kundalini Shakti (Divine Serpent Power) is
extremely difficult. This is because the flow has to be obstructed. One
feels carefree and joyous when there is no discipline. The taste buds are
in ecstasy when allowed to eat anything and everything. As a result of
habit our tongue wants both tasty food and excess in quantity. The same
holds true for our genitals. Lusty people keep touching mental highs and
lows and they go to extremes in all their activities. A man of lust never
gets mental satiation, his body tires fast yet the mind keeps desiring
more and more. The same holds true for all the sense organs. The mind is
the eleventh sense organ. It has 3 taste buds i.e. greed, attachment and
the ego. The entire body is full of lethargy. Ordinary lives flow in this
direction. Vile activities that are beastly and ghostly in nature drop
downwards. Hence obstructing this fall is as difficult as building a
strong dam. And more difficult is vaporizing the salty water of the ocean
so as to make it potable. Very powerful technology is required to dig
wells or oil wells so as to get water and oil respectively. Cranes are
needed to pull and raise them. Also it is a gigantic task to maintain and
repair these machines. A very qualified engineer is needed for proper
maintenance of machines. Not only education but his alertness and
dedication too are most required.

The control, activation and arising of Kundalini power is increasingly
difficult in that order. Not only does one have to imbibe control of
senses, mind, thoughts, wealth, time, etc. but one has to become
steadfast in it like the reins of horses, chains of a wild elephant and
noose of a camel. All this is done to stop it acting according to its own
whims and fancies and that forcefully   it is made use of for achieving
desired goals. If one desires to stop   a waterfall flowing downwards and
instead change its flow in the upward   direction a powerful pump is
needed. This task cannot be fulfilled   with an ordinary capability. It
needs extraordinary power.

The evolved soul force of a spiritual aspirant who activates his vital
force fire with self control can manifest divine powers (Sidhis) and
utilize the same for required tasks. With reference to this some examples
are noteworthy. Mahatma Jadbharat was an incarnation of King Bharat. He
gave divine wisdom to the Sindhu King Rahugan while plying Rahugan's
palanquin. Once, a Dasyu soldier caught him as a sacrificial offering.
Jadbharat was made to stand in front of Mahakali's image so as to get his
head chopped off. The priest who was to chop the head approached
Jadbharat. But Jadbharat stood calmly. Due to his soul radiance the image
of Bhadrakali was activated. She snatched the knife from the priest's
hand and killed all the wicked men. One's soul force has intense,
unlimited power. When the bodily electricity is awakened it works like a
fire weapon and has the capacity to overcome all obstacles.

When Shiva's wife Sati was insulted in her father Daksha's Yajna she
activated her Yoga fire and burnt her own body to ashes. Even Sutikshnaji
who was satiated by having Lord Ram's vision gave up his body in the fire
of Yoga. When Damayanti the wife of King Nala had to save her self
respect she killed the lustful hunter with the fire of her eyes. All
these are examples of activation of latent soul power.

Even ordinarily it is difficult to wake up those who are in deep sleep.
When children, grownup adults etc. are forcefully woken up they get angry
because they feel they are forced to give up the joy of sleeping. It is
even more dangerous to wake up a sleeping snake. The nuclear power in an
atom is latent. If it is attacked and broken such a terrible explosion
takes place that one witnesses destruction miles around. Those who are
unaware of atomic explosions are reminded of the Hiroshima-Nagasaki bomb
explosion wherein lakhs of people died and huge mountains had melted due
to the intense heat. How terrible are volcanoes that erupt. Only a few
years back was witnessed the explosion of Mexico and Columbia. The
volcanic eruption of Helena converted day into night for more than a
week. Its black dust had covered the skies for a long time. This is
exactly the case with latent Kundalini awakening. Many elephants walked
on the sleeping Kumbhakarna's chest so as to wake him up. The same holds
true for Kundalini awakening. When it is latent (sleeping) daily routine
works on and moves like a cart with damaged wheels. But when an engine is
placed in a railway train and one presses the accelerator it helps all
other carriages joined to it to march ahead speedily. Thus an aspirant of
Kundalini worship too has to face dire situations when commencing
spiritual practices. But later very miraculously the movement is not like
normal air but is like a cyclonic wind. Its speed is that of typhoons and
cyclones.

The Rishis say in "Mahayoga Vijnana" that----

"The soul force Kundalini (Divine Serpent Power) like a female snake is
sleeping on the Mooladhar Chakra (plexus) with twining of 3½ rounds. As
long as Kundalini power is asleep a creature remains animalistic in
nature. Even with a lot of endeavor a creature does not attain divine
wisdom. If one's substratum force is asleep then the external world too
is asleep. But when it awakens its fate and the entire world open up."

There is a lot of rise and fall when the vital force fire within us is
lit up. When there are cyclonic winds operating they uproot, trees, homes
etc. Dry leaves and mounds of dust rise miles up in the sky. Eddy
currents in rivers capsize boats and such eddies in seas are known to
overturn gigantic ships too. Special movements make the invisible
visible. When a power generator bursts then the surrounding areas are
shattered. When lighting touches any part of earth it burns that area to
ashes.

While awakening the Kundalini one has to face such dire situations. Hence
one not only needs daring but a lot of alertness. Lethargy has no place
over here. Just as rope walkers in a circus maintain their balance, so
too a person activating his Kundalini power has to be very cautious and
should have high spiritual capability. If there is even an iota of
indolence the dangers to be faced are dire and many. Flies and mosquitoes
lay countless eggs all day long. Even fish lay eggs in large numbers at
one single shot but all of them are not worried about looking after their
eggs. But as far as human embryos are concerned the mother is very
careful not only during pregnancy but at the time of the birth of the
baby too. And later the mother makes arrangements for the baby's food,
cleanliness and protects it from weather changes. Worldly activities can
be compared to eggs laid by mosquitoes, flies etc. but as far as
Kundalini awakening is concerned it can only be compared to a human
mother's pregnancy, birth of her baby and later upbringing of her child.
It is not easy at all since there are a lot of problems she faces and
thus she has to become very responsible. All this requires a lot of
mental alertness. When there is a mistake there is fear of a downfall.

The method of a female scorpion's procreation is very strange. In her
womb many eggs are nourished and raised at one and the same time. W hen
the eggs grow up a bit they wish to come out of the womb. The opening of
the genital organ is so tiny that it is virtually impossible for the tiny
eggs to come out of it. The eggs in the womb while growing up are full of
hunger. Thus they start eating the mother's stomach itself and after
consuming all her flesh the eggs come out. In the meantime the mother
scorpio dies since her stomach has been ripped open by the eggs.<




The procreation of Sidhis (divine powers) conjoined to Kundalini is
exactly like this. Whenever Kundalini awakens scriptural scholars say
that she drinks the blood of the spiritual aspirant and eats up his
flesh. He becomes like a skeleton. This is one type of Kaya-Kalp (bodily
transformation) in which the old dirt is thrown away and new seeds bloom

plant from all sides. Later new shoots sprout forth and flowers in large
numbers grow on it. Thus the roundness and splendor of the plant

While trimming and cutting the plant it looks as though its size has
diminished and that its body is depleted. But this state does not last
for long because new shoots and flowers start sprouting on it. The gloom
of autumn disappears and the beautiful flowers of spring are witnessed by

Awakening of the Kundalini (Divine Serpent Power) is like a fiery test.
When gold is heated all the dross gets burnt to ashes. Nothing happens to
the pure gold and in fact the more it is heated the more it shines

on God. Everyone including his father was against his going away thus and
everyone tried to dissuade him from going to the forest. But Shukdevji
was firm and refused to listen to anyone. To test him Indra sent the
heavenly dancer Rambha but in a few words he sent her back. This is the
true meaning of burning up of bad psychic imprints. If you cut the
branches of a tree a new tree can emerge from it but if you remove the
roots totally or burn them up a new tree can never emerge from it.
Kundalini power burns up Sanchit (stored), Kriyamaan (future), Prarabhdha
(present) actions to ashes. Here a ripe aspirant who is thoroughly heated
up by the furnace of penance becomes firm as a brick.

sacrificial fires like Shataputi, Sahasraputi, Gajaputi. It is compared

the fire of vital force Yajna. Here a "baked" aspirant is akin to the
properties of juice, ashes and Sanjeevani. Thus an aspirant heated in the
fire of Kundalini becomes extraordinary and his powers are rare and
limitless.

If steam gets scattered everywhere it is of no use but if it is
concentrated in a limited area then with its energy the train can run
speedily for miles together. In a few minutes you can pressure cook your
food. In the same way when the latent, scattered energy of your body is
concentrated via Kundalini awakening we obtain material Sidhis and soul
Ridhis and these many useful tasks even at the world level can be
executed.

There is a mighty storehouse of electricity in the human body but it lies
scattered. Hence one cannot see its might. But via Kundalini awakening
when all this energy is gathered and focused at the Mooladhar Chakra
(base of the spine) it is like concentrating material energy in a limited
area. Thus the use of this energy is such that it can only amaze one and

An old female full of austerities lived in the forest. A mendicant came
there. The old lady built a hut nearby and took the responsibility of
feeding him. One night a female woodcutter having lost her way reached
the hut of the mendicant and she begged for grace.

The mendicant thought she was begging for sexual intercourse and hence
sent her away without food or shelter. The old lady seated under a tree
was watching intently. She heard voices. She took the lady woodcutter
with her and gave her food and shelter. At dawn the old woman showed the
right path to the woodcutter. The old lady had heard the harsh words of
the mendicant. She hence broke the hut that she had built for him. She
refused to give him food and said: Here you lived for 24 years and only
gained victory over your desires. Since you have not sown the seeds of
compassion in your heart it's a shame that you call yourself a mendicant.

How do you react when your plans fall through? Do you roll with the
punches? Or does anxiety keep you from enjoying life? To a great extent,
our personality determines how we deal with stress in our lives, but here

1. Sleep more. It's very common in our society to exist on less than 6
hours of sleep a night. But experts keep telling us we need at least 8
hours. Not just to rest our bodies, but to rejuvenate our minds. "Tired"
and "cranky" seem to go hand in hand. Don't use your bedroom to watch the
news or finish up some work from the office. Make that room your haven, a
place to relax and escape the day. Have a hot cup of tea, take a warm
bath, or read a paperback to help you unwind.

2. Have faith. Saying a short prayer in times of stress can give you a
sense of calm, especially when the situation is one you really have no
control over. Studies have shown that people who trust in a higher power
have lower blood pressure. Being able to forgive people also can affect
your blood pressure. Holding a grudge is not good for your health!


3. Turn it off. The convenience that cell phones have added to our lives
can actually be a double-edged sword. We depend on them so much it seems
we can't live without them. This increased accessibility means not only
can our loved ones reach us at any time, but so can work. If your
employer legitimately needs to have your cell phone number, make sure you
set clear limits on when you can and cannot be reached. Your time off is
yours.




4. Take a holiday. It doesn't have to be a fancy vacation resort. A day
at the beach, or an afternoon at the park will do. Just anywhere you can
be and not think about the bills, work, or whatever tensions you may
have. It's important to take time for yourself, so do it! You'll feel
better with a fresh outlook.


5. Treat yourself. Sign up for a yoga class at your local gym or
community center. The costs are nominal, and you'll feel more relaxed
after even just one session. A monthly massage or a spa treatment is also
a great way to recharge. You'll walk out feeling like a million dollar

come out of the movie feeling ready to get busy and accomplish your
goals. Music can also help you stay motivated. If you want to walk more,
invest in a good MP3 system and listen to upbeat music to keep you
