general and specialist knowledge from the various discipli-
nes within Biology. Furthermore, they will be capable of
applying state-of-the-art study and analytical methods and
techniques in Biology.

Consequently, Biology graduates are equipped to design
and participate in research projects in any of the Biology
disciplines: Botany, Zoology, Ecology, Plant Physiology,
Animal Physiology, Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Gene-
tics, Biochemistry, etc., or to participate in multidiscipli-
nary projects which require the knowledge and experience
of a biologist. This Degree is aimed at equipping future bio-
logists to apply the fundamental concepts of the scientific
method to basic and applied research. Similarly, gradua-

microorganism species in existence and in fossil regis-
ters. Biology graduates will develop a genuine vocation for
understanding individuals, populations, communities and
ecosystems, and will be capable of resolving problems
