KCFC January 4, 2007 Business Meeting The meeting was called to order at 8:10 pm by President Phil Gross with the following 15 members present: Phil Gross, Leslie Horne, Mary Ann Gross, Heather Antes, Patty Camp, Dave Camp, Bob Lewis, Lyn Wellington, Randy Worth, Mike Van Hail, Diane Sanders, Bill Sanders, Gabe Horne, Nancy McClelland, and Darrell Berry. Secretary Report (Temp Secretary Phil Gross) th The minutes from the December 7 meeting were e-mailed. Since no one present admitted receiving the minutes, the Secretary’s Report will be tabled until the next business meeting. Gary was to resend the email containing the 12/7/06 Report. Treasurer’s Report - Nancy McClelland November Bank Balance was $1,247.25. Several members present paid their 2007 dues. The members present accepted the Treasurer’s Report as presented. Officer Reports President – Phil Gross - An email was received from the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism inviting the club to visit their local. It was decided that we would need to pass on this offer. OLD BUSINESS KCFC Christmas Party at the Sanders –- (Present: Lyn Wellington, Heather & Gary Antes, Phil & Mary Ann Gross, Steve Dudley, Bill & Diane Sanders, Carolyn Clark and Jim Rash.) Everyone had a good time. The food was very good and the gift exchange was enjoyed even by those that had to give up their initial present. New Years Day Celebration at the Skin-N-Scuba Pool –- (Present: Lyn Wellington, Bob & Darla Lewis, Dave & Patty Camp, Gabe & Leslie Horne, Nancy McClelland, Phil & Mary Ann Gross, Bill & Diane Sanders, Don Miller, Richard & Eugena Turner, Fred Cherry, Gary & Heather Antes plus many non members.) The food and visiting was very good. SCUBA Olympics –- The committee has not yet had a meeting. We need to contact Don Watkins to see if he wishes to be involved. He was the spearhead the last time this event was held. The President will look into his old records of the previous Olympics. The President also suggested giving gift certificates as prizes. After checking the availability of the Skin-N-Scuba pool and other factors, it was decided to hold the KCFC SCUBA Olympics at 5:00 PM Saturday 3/31/07. Maybe in conjunction with a potluck dinner. January Fun Meeting – It was decided to attend the movie Sharks 3D at Union Station – Sunday January 21, 2007. Show time is 3:00 PM (meet near box office at 2:30). The movie probably takes less than an hour. Dinner afterwards at the nearby Jack Stack BBQ. 1 KCFC January 4, 2007 Business Meeting February Fun Meeting – Superbowl Sunday in the Skin-N-Scuba large classroom and big screen TV. Bring a snack to share. Club will furnish Beer, Pop and Water. This will be February 4, 2007. After a week of pre-game specials, the game will start sometime between 5:00 and 6:00 PM. March Fun Meeting – It was decided for the club to attend the Comedy City performance on Saturday 3/3/07 at 5:00 PM as our March Fun Meeting. This theatre is in the City Market part of KC and the cost is $10 per person. Additional information will follow. This is clean comedy. Limited selection of food is available. April Fun Meeting – It was decided to attend the Indoor Arena Football game on April 14, 2007. The Brigade hosts the Grand Rapids Rampage at 7:00 PM. Additional information will be provided. Bill is still looking into a cheap trip to Playa de Carma in Mexico. 50/50 – $5 Won by Lynn Wellington. NEW BUSINESS rd Annual Spring Fish Fry – 3 Annual KCFC Spring Fish Fry. No one objected to again holding this annual event. Everyone liked holding the event at a shelter on Blue Springs Lake. Committee: Gary & Heather, Phil Gross, Dave & Patty and Mike Van Haele. It was decided to hold the Fish Fry on Saturday May 5, 2007. An attempt will be made to get the same shelter house for 2007. 2007 Dive Season Mike Van Haele described his plans for the 2007 Nationals in Northern California 2007 Tentative Fun Dives includes: Pontiac on Bull Shoals – (with Bubblemasters) May 26-28 Stockton State Park – June 9-10 Money Shoot at Pontiac June 16-17 Mermet Springs, Ill Baxter Campground on Tablerock Dam Site Campground on Beaver Holding a KCFC underwater photo competition during the dive year was discussed. Come to the February business meeting ready to discuss these and other events and set their dates. This is necessary so those attending the dives have a chance to make campground reservations. nd Dave Camp moved that we adjourn and Gabe 2 the motion.
