     Young, enthusiastic, award-winning sports journalist who hopes to use his multimedia experiences to continue to
      transform sports journalism throughout the 21st century.

EDUCATION
                       Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, September 2003 - June 2007
                  ~Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with concentrations in History and Sociology. Graduated with Honors.

WORK EXPERIENCE
       ~The Telegraph (macon.com), Macon, GA, July 2007 - Present                              Sports Reporter
Description: Currently working as a sports reporter for The Telegraph, a 55,000 daily- circulating paper that covers Middle
Georgia and the Southeast. Also work for the paper’s website, macon.com.

        Duties include: Covering the paper's Georgia Tech beat, focusing on football and men’s basketball. I write features,
         notebooks, game stories, and coordinate a blog, video blogs, a Twitter account (@macontechtalk) and a Facebook fan
         page (Coley Harvey – MaconTechTalk). Georgia Tech’s 2009 football team won an ACC championship and participated
         in a BCS bowl. The men’s basketball team made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
        Duties include: Appearing weekly on local radio stations FOXSports 1670 AM “The Bill Shanks Show” (Macon), and
         The Mix 100.9 FM (Macon) as a Georgia Tech analyst. Was also an analyst for KXNO 1460 AM (Des Moines, Iowa)
         before Georgia Tech’s Orange Bowl game with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Also occasionally appear online as a guest analyst for
         MTM Atlanta Sports Talk Radio (http://mtmradio.libsyn.com)
        Duties include: Writing weekly columns on topics ranging from local sports to professional state athletics to
         national/international sports topics.
        Duties include: Assisting the high school sports editor with area prep sports coverage. I write features, notebooks and
         game stories, and have appeared with the high school editor on "The Prep Zone," a once weekly broadcast show that aired
         on the paper's macon.com website.
        Duties include: Writing local sports takeout features. They have ranged from an area Olympian gold medalist skeet
         shooter to pioneering Minor League baseball players.
        Other beats have included: The Macon Music (Minor League baseball), the Georgia Gwizzlies (Minor League basketball)
         and local high school baseball.

Description: Currently work as a freelance writer for the ACC Sports Journal, a monthly magazine that covers the Atlantic Coast
Conference and its teams.

        Duties include: Writing stories every few weeks that focus on various aspects of Georgia Tech football or basketball.

        such as elections, police blotters, and other local news stories.

Description: Worked as a beat reporter for the sports section of Northwestern University’s major student-run newspaper.
     Duties included: Consistently filing deadline game stories and writing features.
     Duties included: Covering the men’s and women’s swimming and diving beats as well as tennis.
     Duties included: Covering a National championship-contending Big Ten women’s softball team.

deadline story following Georgia Tech’s 39-34 win in the 2009 ACC football championship.
        Georgia Sports Writer’s Association’s second-place winner for “Best Feature – Non-Deadline” – recognized for feature
         story on Ernest Johnson and Samuel Drake, the first African Americans to play for Macon’s minor league baseball team,
         the Peaches, in 1955.
        Georgia Sports Writer’s Association’s third-place winner for “Best College Event Story on Deadline” – recognized for
         deadline story following Georgia Tech’s 39-34 win in the 2009 ACC football championship.

~2009: Georgia Sports Writer’s Association’s first-place winner for “Best Pro Event Story on Deadline” – recognized for deadline
story on the drafting of former Georgia Tech punter Durant Brooks.
        Georgia Sports Writer’s Association’s first-place winner for “Best College Event Story on Deadline” – recognized for
         deadline story written when Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer was named ACC Player of the Year, 2008.
        Georgia Sports Writer’s Association’s second-place finalist for “Best College Event Story on Deadline.”
        The Telegraph’s August winner for Non-deadline feature – recognized for feature about Georgia Tech’s famed Ramblin’
         Wreck and the Middle Georgia native who was the car’s latest driver.
