   Check your schedule.
   Does it say the following?
    – Room 105
    – English I
    – Mrs. Dredla
What will my student be doing
this year?
   He will be getting reading for TAKS.
   He will build lifelong knowledge and skills
    that will help him later in
    – high school,
    – after he graduate,
    – and in future jobs.
   Most of what he gets out of English I
    depends on him!
Who is the teacher as a
person?
   My name is Mrs. Allison Dredla.
   I’ve been married for eight years.
   I love reading!
   I have two really cute daughters!
   I love jewelry, scrapbooking, fun
    socks, and flip flops!

be graded?
   He will
    –   grade himself.
    –   be graded by his peers.
    –   I will grade him on correct answers and effort.
    –   Effort includes
         • tutoring
         • trying to do all the work even if you are unsure of
           the answers.
What are the rules in this

1.   Respect others by following the social
     contract.
2.   Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
3.   Bring all supplies including your brain.
4.   Raise your hand to speak.
5.   Be on time!
6.   No gum!
7.   Keep your area clean.
