                              DPS CONTINUES SILVER ALERT

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Marie Josie Marschal, who has been diagnosed with dementia,
and has been missing from Devine since 11:11 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Ms. Marschal wandered off from her
boarding house at 850 CR 6612 in Devine.

Ms. Marschal, 85 years old, is a white female who is 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds. She has gray and
white hair, blue eyes and a brush and cuts on her face. She was last seen wearing white long-sleeved pink shirt, white
skirt and white sandals. She speaks with a French accent.

If you have any information regarding this missing senior citizen, contact the Medina County Sheriff’s Office at 830-
741-6153.

To activate the Texas Silver Alert, the law enforcement agency with jurisdiction must determine that a disappearance
meets the following state criteria:
   • The missing person must be 65 years of age or older.
   • The missing person’s domicile must be in Texas.
   • The senior citizen must have a diagnosed impaired mental condition, and the senior citizen’s disappearance
       must pose a credible threat to their own health and safety. (Law enforcement shall require the family or legal
       guardian of the missing senior citizen to provide documentation from a medical or mental health professional
       of the senior citizen’s condition.)
   • The request must be within 72 hours of the senior citizen’s disappearance.
   • Sufficient information is available to disseminate to the public that could assist in locating the senior citizen.
       (Highway signs will be activated ONLY if accurate vehicle information is available AND it is confirmed that
       the senior citizen was driving the vehicle at the time of their disappearance.
