"Wisconsin Victim Witness Professionals"
June 25, 2011 Greetings from the Wisconsin Victim Witness Professionals! Attached, please find registration information for the 21st Annual Spring Training and Conference at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. We have some great presentations lined up and we expect it to be another wonderful training opportunity. We do have a few details to be aware of for the conference this year. First, due to an early deadline with the catering policy of the Resort, the registration deadline for the conference has been moved up this year. Registration for the conference is to be made by April 15, 2011. Secondly, thanks to the support and assistance of the Department of Justice OCVS, we anticipate that we will again receive some funding through VOCA and CJA and we are once again able to provide a discount on registration fees for this year! Keep in mind however, that the registration fee does not include lodging, meals (other than breakfasts and the Thursday luncheon), group event or any cancellation fees. We are pleased to announce that we have National Speaker, Viki Sharp, presenting on Thursday and on Friday morning. Ms. Sharp spent 30 years as a crime victim advocate. She began as a crisis intervention volunteer in Pima County, Arizona in 1976, joined the staff as volunteer coordinator in 1984, and was appointed Program Director in 1985. During her tenure as the Director of the Pima County Attorney’s Victim Witness Program, she led the program to international acclaim. You do not want to miss these presentations! For the group event, attached to the registration brochure, you will find a registration form for a Wisconsin Dells Boat Tour & Pizza Party on Thursday evening, May 19, 2011. Note that registration includes the boat tour, pizza and pop. Since your evening meal is being provided on board, we have been approved by DOJ for meal reimbursement at the rate of $10.00. Please complete the form & return it with the required fee when you register for the conference. Please pay attention to registration/cancellation deadlines and keep in mind that you may send in your registration even if your county has not yet submitted the required fee. This is another great group event that we hope you will enjoy! New this year!! Enjoy the opportunity to support our local charity of choice through a silent auction of great prizes! Please consider donating a prize and/or come ready to try your luck at biding. All winning bids will be announced on Friday morning of the conference. Checks can be made payable to the charity.
