GROUP: Summit View PTO Meeting MEETING DATE: October 6th, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. MEETING LOCATION: Summit View Library ATTENDANCE: 14 parents, 1 principal, 0 teachers I. INTRODUCTIONS/ATTENDANCE 1. Prior to the official start of the meeting, a presentation was given by The Vision Therapy Center. If you would like more information, you can visit their website http://www.thevisiontherapycenter.com/parents/ 2. The meeting was called to order by Paula Zibton (co-president) at 7:22 p.m. II. DISCUSSION 1. Wendy Abts introduced Scrapbooking Day as a general fundraising event. The school would rent tables in the gym for parents and their friends/relatives to bring their scrapbooking materials and spend the day doing their projects. Pizza would be ordered and included in the cost of the day. Each person would pay roughly $15 for a day of scrapbooking. Wendy will come up with three Saturdays and get back to the PTO with the dates. 2. Amy Cochran presented on the Walk-a-thon. As of tonight, the students raised $13,625. Mrs. Auerbach, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Haag, Mrs. Marcks, Mrs. Lichtie and Mr. Lavalle will be sleeping on the roof. We need to reach $16,000 for Mr. Peterson to join them. 3. Ideas for a March family fun night event were discussed. Family Zumba night was introduced as was a family hike at Retzer Nature Center. No decisions were made. 4. Kelly Schwab (treasurer) presented the treasurer’s report. The current balance in the PTO checking and savings accounts is $16,342.86. Sue P. made a motion to approve the report and Jennifer N. seconded. 5. A sign up sheet for Book Fair volunteers was passed around as was a sign up sheet to donate soda for the teachers during conferences. 6. Mr. Peterson will be sending home a flyer for the NED assembly. Students can order yo yo’s. III. OPEN DISCUSSION/ADJOURNMENT 1.
