For Sale…COME Racing Holden HJ 1 Tonner 1975
This is a piece of history for sale.

We bought this one tonner brand new in 1975 from Booran holden in Caulfield. It
was equipped with a 253ci Holden V8 and Trimatic transmission from the factory.
GTS instruments and standard bench seat with column shift auto.

The vehicle is therefore a one owner original with a genuine 126,850kms on the
clock. Over the years the car was used for general use. In 1989 it was converted
to full time Drag Racing with a 496ci Big Block Chev, powerglide trans and N2O
eventually running 9.3 @145mph over the ¼ mile. Was fitted with Dana 60 diff,
ladder bar suspension, full roll cage and Drag slicks.

With the advent of our COME-1 Torana the one tonner was returned to normal
street duties. All but the roll cage was replaced with normal street equipment.
The Big Block gave way to a 355 Holden Stroker V8 and new cast case Borg
Warner Super T10 with Hurst shifter.

Most recently the car was fitted with all new GM power steering setup, a brand
new 383ci Holden EFI stroker engine and legal street exhaust system and one
wheeler 9” Ford 2.75:1 diff, fully rebuilt front end with urethane bushes. The car
has in fact only done about 5000kms total in the last 20 years.

The paint is the original factory version. The car has never been in any accidents
and although just treated as a workhorse these days it is still the best one tonner
you will find anywhere for anyone wishing to restore one. Mechanically there is
nothing to do. The engine and clutch has done only 1500kms as has the diff. The
transmission was brand new 5000kms ago.

This car is also an a factory mistake with regard to the original ID plate. It has
the original plates still affixed and came from the factory with the incorrect ID as
an LH Torana off the production line.

The car is still and has always remained fully street registered to us the original
owners. Registered to April 2010.

The price as is with no roadworthy is $15,000 drive away or best offer.

Give Sam or Issy a call on the above work numbers if you are interested.
