6. SEA-SEMESTER PROGRAMS

SEA Semester is unique. It's the only program to combine full-credit academic study with the
adventure of a deep-ocean voyage under sail. Working closely with your shipmates on shore in
Woods Hole and at sea, you’ll learn to challenge yourself, and to develop new leadership,
teamwork, and research skills.

It offers six programs, each with an individual academic focus and cruise track:

A Message from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions
FREE MCAT Class
March 1 – March 18

Throughout the first half of March, Kaplan is holding FREE opportunities for students to take a
preview GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, or DAT class. These events will be held at Stony Brook
University and are open to anyone, even if you are not a current Stony Brook student.

Each preview class will last up to 2 hours (3 hours for the GMAT) and will introduce proven
strategies to tackle the exam. Our instructors will also discuss the importance of taking these
exams and answer any questions you might have.

UC Berkeley's School of Optometry: "Opto-Camp" Program
The Admissions and Student Affairs Office at UC Berkeley's School of Optometry is pleased to
announce that we are celebrating 6 years of our summer "Opto-Camp" program! We will again
offer two sessions this summer, June 20-22 and July 18-20.
The goal of Berkeley Optometry's Opto-Camp is to introduce underrepresented and first-
generation pre-health science majors to Optometry as a potential future career track and to
prepare them to be successful applicants to optometry school. The objective of Berkeley
Optometry's Opto-Camp is to present a three-day "in residence" experience that will provide
participants with opportunities to learn about the profession of optometry and the process of
becoming an optometrist.

Please note there is a $125 program fee for those selected to attend, however, we also offer a
limited number of scholarships per session.
