Making a scroll saw clock 1. Select a pattern from the scroll saw clock book. Or design your own pattern. 2. Check to make sure the pattern doesn’t have really narrow parts that will tend to split or break when you are sawing or after you are complete. 3. Transfer your pattern on to an appropriate sized piece of pine board using carbon paper. You may have to cut the board down to size on the band saw. 4. Using the drill press, drill holes in your wood where there are holes that will have to be cut out. Some patterns require a large hole cut to fit clock hardware (normally 2” + in diameter), make sure you drill this hole before you cut out your pattern. 5. Start to cut your pattern on the scroll saw. Make sure you have the right blade in the saw and you follow all safety precautions. 6. Once you have completely cut out your pattern, sand all parts by hand. 7. After completing the sanding you can apply a stain and finish on the clock. 8. Final step is installing the hardware and hook on the back.
