Rationale:
Google Earth (GE) is a popular Geographic Information System (GIS) interface for
navigating and viewing Satellite Images and other GIS layers. The following exercise
will help students become familiar with this Geography tool.

Task:
Your tasks are listed as follows:

          1. Log into your account and find start › all programs › Google Earth 4
       OR GE in the start › installers › Google Earth 4
          2. Open up GE
          3. Set your screen resolution to 1024 X 768 (Start › Control Panel › Display ›
             Settings › Screen Resolution › Slide to 1024 X 768
          4. Once it is open practice rotating and zooming on the planet by finding
             your home. Add a “Placemark” (yellow pushpin) to mark your house and
             provide the latitude and longitude.

          5. Find Nepean High and provide the latitude and longitude of the middle of
             the soccer field.

          6. What is the length of the perimeter of the soccer field?

          7. Use the “ruler tool” (select “path”) in the top toolbar and determine the
             length of the streets surrounding Nepean High and Broadview Elementary
             (in meters)
