Archiving important email
We all have received email that we need to keep for
reference or for proof of action. Unfortunately, that
email takes up a lot of your allotted storage space on
the email server. The solution is to use the ARCHIVE
function of Groupwise to save the mail to your
computer and remove it from the server. The following
slides will show you how.
Select the item you wish to archive. In this
case, I have a folder that has copies of
electronic newsletters and I want to archive
the ones from eSchool News. I simply click
on the folder and then on the subfolder that
contains the newsletters.
Highlight the items to archive, one or
From the ‘Actions’ menu, scroll down
to ‘Move to Archive’ and click. This
process can take considerable time
so you may want to do a few at a
time instead of all.
When the items disappear, you can
check for them by going to the ‘File’
menu and scrolling down to ‘Open
You can see them in the ‘Archive’ folder.
Don’t forget to go to the ‘File’ menu uncheck
‘Open Archive’ to see your regular mail
