Veuve Clicquot Champagne announces the winner of the 37th Veuve Clicquot
Business Woman Award at a glittering champagne reception held at the ICA in
London. The coveted award was presented by News Broadcaster and Journalist
Kate Silverton.
Stars of the business world including Martha Lane Fox, Kelly Hoppen, Duncan
Bannatyne and Zandra Rhodes networked with previous winners and this year's
shortlist of high achievers.
The Finalists

Gill Riley, Founding and Managing Director of construction firm, GGR-UNIC
Louise Wymer, Director of catering company, The Catering Academy
Laura Tenison, Founder and Managing Director of retailing company, JoJo

The Winner
Laura Tenison, Founder and Managing Director of retailing company, JoJo
Maman Bebe
As the founder and managing director of Wales based JoJo Maman Bebe, Laura
has grown the company from start-up in 1993 to its current 21m turnover. Now
the UK’s foremost niche market specialist in the pregnancy, baby and nursery
market, the company prides itself on high levels of staff retention with the
majority of the founding members still part of the team. It has just been awarded
a Best Companies To Work For “One to Watch” award.
In addition to commercial success, Laura has also ensured that social and
environmental responsibility was embedded within her business model. With a
deep involvement with the Nema Foundation, a Mozambique-based charity for
infant mortality as well as a commitment to work placements for Down’s
syndrome sufferers, Laura was commended by the judges on her innovative CSR
programmes. Laura has for some years been a Welsh Assembly Role Model and
champions a number of mentoring and role modelling schemes.
The Prize
The prize is a silver trophy shaped as a La Grande Dame bottle, a special vintage
produced from the vineyards exclusively owned by Madame Clicquot during her
lifetime.
The winner will also take a unique trip to Reims the home of Veuve Clicquot
together with the laureates from other countries to christen a vine in her own
name at the International Business Woman Forum.
As a friend of the widow Madame Clicquot, she will then receive a gift of
champagne from her own vine every birthday for life.
