On November 0, 009, Mr. Joseph Woodring
officially started as the new Vice President,
OPR. Joe worked alongside Dave Mustain at the
corporate office for a few weeks before taking
the helm at OPR and is excited about his new
position with GEO. Joe comes to us from the
Federal Bureau of Prisons where he served for
6 years in many different capacities, beginning
as a correctional officer and working his way
up to warden of several different BOP facilities.
He has also been a special agent with the Office
of Internal Affairs and deputy chief of the
Security Background Investigation and Benefits
Section. Joe’s most recent position was Assistant

                                                                                                                             Aging in South Hill, VA to deliver non-perishables
                                                                                                                             can goods. All the non-perishables were donated by
                                                                                                                             staff members at LVCC. The Programs Committee
                                                                                                                             sponsors a food drive every year to help out during
                                                                                                                             the holiday season.

Wellness Program “Mission Slim-Possible”
Guadalupe County Correctional Facility (GCCF)
decided to get a running start on slimming down.
In October GCCF held its own “The Biggest
Loser” contest. The contest was started by Virgilio
Estupinan, Ben Rael and Tomas Archuleta. The
contest was from November  to December 18,
009. The winner was announced that evening at
the annual Christmas party.

With an entry fee of $50.00 and a final prize of
$700.00 to motivate them, several co-workers
united to get healthier and lose weight. There
were many positives that came out of the contest.
