      State Delegates;

             We would first like to thank you and your respective State for participating
      in the 2011 Mid-West Plains Regional 10U Tournament this Summer in Kalona,
      Iowa.

             The towns of Tri-County Youth Sports, Board Members, players and the
      residents of the community of Kalona would like to welcome your State, team,
      families, fans and members of your community. We hope it will be a memorable
      and rewarding experience that you will remember for years to come!

             Tri-County South is made up of the communities of Kalona, Wellman,
      Riverside, Washington Township, Keota, Hills and Ainsworth. Tri-County and its
      members are excited and eager to help make your time with us enjoyable. We will
      have team check in on Wednesday, July 27th. Team members, managers are
      required to attend their scheduled check-in time.

            Good Luck, have fun, play hard and enjoy your stay in Kalona and the
      surrounding communities.

                MEMO TO REGIONAL TOURNAMENT MANAGERS

           1. Double check your credential packet. Be sure that you have all required
                 documents.
           2. Managers, coaches, will have a room set aside for you; these expenses are the
                 responsibility of your local league. Help in making reservations at the
                 Headquarters Hotel (Riverside Casino Hotel) is available through the
                 Tournament Director. When you call to reserve your room, make sure you
                 tell them that you are a coach. Parents will get a special rate also but no
                 rooms are set aside for them. You will need to provide contract numbers
                 for all coaches, managers and where you are staying at check-in. If there
                 are changes to the schedule for games we will contact you at the numbers
                 provided. We are NOT responsible if you do not answer and are late for
                 games.
           3. Make sure you arrive at the check-in site as a complete team and at your
                 designated time. Teams are to arrive and depart as a complete group.
                 There will be NO Exceptions, unless there has been prior approval from the
                 State Commissioner. All such requests must be fully documented. Any
                 player not excused and missing from check-in will not be allowed to
                 participate in the tournament.
           4. The team, manager and coaches are required to attend the welcoming picnic /
                 banquet. Managers and coaches are required to attend the ―Managers and
                 Coaches Meeting‖. Tournament rules will be discussed at this time.
                 Managers and coaches are required to attend the Managers / Coaches
                 breakfast.
           5. Remind your players that there is a curfew. It is 11:00 p.m. or one (1) hour
                 after the finish of the last scheduled game of the day.
           6. Any questions regarding any aspect of the tournament should be directed to
                 the task force member in charge.
           7. Remember that managers and coaches shall wear uniforms consistent with the
                 Babe Ruth Champion Teams with the Cal Ripken patch on the left
                 shoulder.
           8. Good sportsmanship makes the game enjoyable for everyone. Anyone acting
                 in an unsportsmanlike manner will be removed form the playing field and
                 facilities immediately.
           9. Be sure to have a team meeting and read through the Player’s Guide with your

                            Important Notes & Times
       Tournament Picnic:
            All coaches, managers, players, must attend the picnic at the Kalona Park Shelter
            C at 6:00 PM on Wednesday July 27, 2011. Families are welcome the cost is $5.00
            and under the age of 5 is FREE.

       Officials Meeting:
            All Officials, Coaches, Managers, Head Umpire, State Task Force, and members of
            the tournament committee are REQUIRED to attend. The meeting will be held at
            Riverside Casino and Golf Resort at 8:00 AM on Thursday July 28, 2011.

       Opening Ceremonies:
            All coaches, managers, and players MUST attend the Opening Ceremonies which
            will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday July 28, 2011 at the Mid Prairie Softball
            Complex. Address is 713 F Ave, Kalona Iowa 52247
            Please report to the park no later than 10:15 AM in full uniform.

       Concessions:
            Hot and cold concessions will be available before, during, and after all games at
            the ballpark. Bring some extra spending money and enjoy a snack during the
            game! Water coolers will be provided in the dugouts. NO COOLERS, PICNIC
            BASKETS, SMOKING, OR ALCOHOL WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BALL PARK
            OR THE CITY PARK!

       Team Awards:
            All participants will receive a participation medal. Trophies will be awarded to
            the champion and runner up teams.

       Host Community (Kalona):
            The City of Kalona will allow all players, coaches and managers FREE access to
            the community pool as well as the community recreation center from July 27th –
            Aug 2nd.

                                Directions to Kalona Park
           The Kalona Park is located on the east end of town just South off Highway 22. To get to
           the ball diamond, while leaving from the west parking lot of the park, look across HWY
             22 and you should see F Ave. Take F Ave north and you’ll come to the Mid Prairie
             Softball Complex on your right hand side of the road, parking will be on your right.

       Approaching from Iowa City (I-80):
                Exit I-80 and take HWY 218/27 South to HWY 1 exit. Turn right at the stoplights
                (HWY 1). Follow HWY 1 to HWY 22 intersection (approximately 15 miles, 4 way
                stop), turn left and follow HWY 22 about two blocks past the stoplight. The
                Kalona City Park will be on your right.

       Approaching from the East:
                Follow HWY 218/27 North from Mt. Pleasant to the Riverside (HWY 22) exit then
                turn left and drive through Riverside to Kalona (approximately 7 miles) and the
                Kalona City Park will be on your left when you are coming into town.

       Approaching from the South:
                Follow HWY 1 North from Washington to HWY 22 intersection (approximately 10
                miles, 4 way stop) then turn right and follow HWY 22 to about two blocks past the
                stoplight. The Kalona City Park will be on your right.

       Approaching from the West:
                Follow HWY 22 east from Wellman on HWY 22 to Kalona (approximately 7
                miles). Follow HWY 22 to about two blocks past the stoplight and the Kalona City
                Park will be on your right.

                                       Player Instructions

 Officials of Babe Ruth League, Inc. and the hard working host city have made extensive efforts
 to make certain your stay will be pleasant and rewarding. Therefore, we shall expect that you
 absolutely cooperate with the following regulations pertaining to your actions during the
 tournament.

 Assistance:
       We want all players to thoroughly enjoy themselves during the tournament. If you need
       any information or assistance please contact your team manager immediately.
 Conduct:
       Your conduct must be above reproach on and off the field. Any misbehavior or
       misconduct could not only cause you disqualification from the tournament but could also
       disqualify your team as well.
 Schedule:
       Follow your team schedule at all times. Be at practice sessions, tournament games and
       special events on time. Be sure to check with your manager and Tournament Director
       whenever you wish to divert from the listed functions.
 Appearance:
       As champions we expect your dress to be neat. You may of course dress informally and
       comfortably. At all times, neatness and cleanliness of appearance is required.
 Curfew:
       Curfew time is 11:00 pm or (1) hour after the day’s last scheduled activity or tournament
       game. If an event or game goes beyond 12:00 midnight – all participating team members
       will return to their Families. There will be no one (1) hour grace period.
 Uniforms:
       Each player on the same team shall wear a different number on their uniform. The
       division appropriate Official Shoulder Emblem must be worn on each team member’s left
       shirt sleeve. (For sleeveless uniforms the shoulder emblem must be worn on the left front
       chest).
 Host Team:
       Members of the Host Team are to be treated and are subject to all the same regulations as
       the other participating teams.
 Swimming:
       You are not permitted to take part in any water activities other than swimming (i.e. no
       diving, etc.). You must also check with your manager and/or coaches prior to planning
       to go swimming, particularly on game days.

Practice Fields:
       Contact the Tournament Director for available times and locations.

!IMPORTANT! Tournament Program Pictures:
     Please Email your team picture with player names in the order they appear on the picture to the
     Tournament Director (Mike Mellecker). We encourage you to send your pictures ASAP and follow
     up after your tournament representatives are assigned.

Catcher’s Gear:
       Catchers are required to wear a mask, helmet during warm-ups both before and during the game. All
       coaches, managers or players warm up a pitcher either between innings or in the bullpen must wear a
       helmet and a mask. Coaches please bring an extra one that fits you because we will not have an extra
       one

In the Dugouts and on the Field:
       Only players, managers, coaches and bat persons will be allowed in each team’s dugout or on the
       field. Anyone in the dugout must be on a league’s roster during the regular season and also included
       on the tournament roster. This does not include your bat person.

Equipment:
       Bats, gloves, balls and other equipment must be kept in the dugout, in the proper place and never on
       the field. Discarding of bats, helmets, gloves or any other items in an unsportsmanlike manner can
       result in an ejection from the game.

Flags/Banners:
       Please bring your State Flag or team/league with you. We will display them during the opening
       ceremonies and all the games.

Housing:
     No host family housing is provided for this tournament.

Pre-Game Information:
      Warm ups will be on one of the designated non game fields. Home team shall use the third base
      dugout and visitors shall use the first base dugout. Be ready to play. There will be no warm ups on
      the game fields. Turn line-ups into official scorekeepers by the 3rd inning of the previous game prior
      to game time. There will be signups for other practice fields on a first come/first serve basis
      throughout the tournament. Other details will be covered at check-in and the Officials meeting.

                               Additional Information
Umpires:
       The umpires provided for this tournament have many years of experience working softball. They
       will enforce all rules and regulations covered in the official softball rulebook and the rules and
       regulations of Babe Ruth Softball. Please treat them with respect at all times. Only the manager will
       be allowed to discuss an umpire’s decision or any play of a controversial nature. The home plate
       umpire will be informed of the identity of each team’s manager prior to the start of each game.

Sportsmanship:
       Any player, manager, coach or fan acting in an un-sportsmanlike manner will be removed from the
       playing field and facility immediately. Such behavior may also result in disqualification from the
       tournament.

Spending Money:
       Each player should bring money to potentially purchase a program, tournament t-shirt, concession
       items, and other personal items that they might need.

Gate Admission:
      The gate fee at this tournament will be $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for 12U, under 5 free. There will
      be a concession stand and we encourage you to support the local Babe Ruth Program.

Tournament Souvenir Shirts:
     Tournament T-Shirts can Pre-ordered for $15.00. Parents/Coaches should complete the attached
     pre-order form and they will be ready to be picked up at Check-in. T-shirts will be on sale
     throughout the tournament for $15.00.

Parents, Family and Fans-Souvenirs:
      Parents, family and fans are invited to check-in, but not required to attend. Tournament souvenir
      shirts, official programs and picnic tickets will be available for purchase at check-in time, at the
      picnic and during the tournament. Souvenir Programs ($3 each) and souvenir shirts ($15 each) will
      be available during check-in and during the tournament; although you are encouraged to fill out the
      pre-order T- shirt order form and send it to Mike Mellecker beforehand and you will be able to pick
      them up at check-in. Prices will not be reduced during the tournament.


Say “Thank You”:
       Players please take the time to say thank you to the host volunteers, who have given
       their time and gone out of their way to make players, coaches and families feel welcome
       at the tournament.
