 Cody John
 Program: Information Technology
Graduating from Logan High School with a very high GPA, Cody John could go practically anywhere.
After considering many other education and career options, Cody chose to enroll at Bridgerland Applied
Technology College in the Information Technology Program. “I just always wanted to be a propeller-
head,” he said of his choice. After only 18 months of training at BATC, his skill set qualified him for
an exciting career at Overstock.com in Salt Lake City as a
Windows System Engineer. He entered the workforce earning
nearly three times the salary of an entry-level school teacher.
He was quickly promoted to Network Engineer and then
Security Engineer. Cody’s training and abilities identified
him early in his career as a

        Extreme Makeover
No, we can’t turn your Fiesta into a Ferrari! However, BATC’s Auto Collision
Repair Program is excited to undergo an extreme equipment makeover thanks, in
part, to instructor Kevin Cornia’s competitive application to the Collision Repair
Education Foundation (CREF). Each year, only one school is selected to receive
this prestigious $50,000 award by the Foundation’s Board of
Trustees. BATC is honored to have been chosen out of a nationwide applicant
pool of over 50 schools and eagerly received the award at the 2010 SEMA show
in Las Vegas.
Funds from the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover were used to purchase
hand and power tools, welders, and student safety equipment used in the
internationally recognized I-CAR training. Thanks to Chief Automotive
Technologies™ and Rust-oleum® for generously donating or providing at reduced
costs a state-of-the-art Fusion frame rack, a Velocity frame measuring system (the
most accurate system available), and materials to completely recover the lab floor.
