Outlook Free/Busy User Options
If you are sharing an external calendar like Outlook, you should make sure to publish 3
months of calendar information and update that information every 15 minutes to the
server. These match the settings on Exchange Adapter sending information from the UC
server to the Starfish server.

Time Zones!
Email/calendar software, including Outlook, will translate an appointment to the
receiver’s time zone setting. If you or a student sees an appointment displaying
incorrectly in your calendar by an hour or two, check time zone first. Thanks to Denise
Gabrelski for alerting us to this.

How to set Time Zone – students and staff
      UConnect Student email (mail.uc.edu):
          1. Select "Options" at the top right corner, below your name
          2. Select "Settings" from the left navigation menu
          3. Select the "Regional tab" from the top menu of tabs
          4. Where it says "Current time zone" on that page, it should say "GMT-05:00
             Eastern Time"

       Outlook for staff/faculty (ucmail.uc.edu):
 Tools > Options > Calendar Options > Time Zone

Student Reminder Preferences default
The Reminder Preferences student profile setting “Email me at 8:00 AM the day of an
appointment” is now set as the default for new users.

External Holds now include Tentative and Out of Office

External Holds in your Starfish calendar now include Tentative and Out of Office time.
The Exchange Adapter upgraded by Starfish and installed by UCit on January 31 allows
Tentative, Busy and Out of Office time in a shared calendar to be displayed in Starfish as
Unavailable. Previously, only time in the external calendar shown as Busy was included.
This upgrade will accommodate a change in Outlook 2007 which shows requested
meeting time as Tentative by default.

Outlook version 2007 and higher
Outook 2007 and higher are compatible and will continue to work with Starfish via the
ical message format and the Starfish exchange server adapter. For those that are
upgrading check that your new calendar is shared with starfish@uc.edu.
