Dream Home Database Application This document provides an overview of the Dream Home database application. Descriptions and instructions for creating the forms and reports listed are available as separate documents. Main Switchboard All parts of the application are accessed via the main Switchboard form. The user selects from one of the main subsystems by choosing a menu option on the main Switchboard. Each subsystem has its own switchboard of menu options. Branch and staff management Open the Branch and staff management switchboard. Property management Open the Property management switchboard. Rentals management Open the Rentals management switchboard. Staff reports Open the Staff reports switchboard. Property reports Open the Property reports switchboard. Exit Dream Home Exit the Dream Home application. Branch and staff management The branch and staff management subsystem allows details of branches, staff, next of kin, and workgroups to be entered and updated. Add branch Enter details of a new branch. frmBranchAdd View or edit branch Display the details of a particular branch and update its details if required. frmBranchEdit Add staff Enter details of a new member of staff and their next of kin. frmStaffAdd View or edit staff Display the details of a particular staff member, and update their details or their next of kin details if required. frmStaffEdit Create workgroup Set up a workgroup of staff. frmWorkgroup Change workgroup Update the membership of an existing staff workgroup. frmWorkgroupEdit Exit Return to main Switchboard. Property management The property management subsystem deals with all aspects of entering and updating details of properties for rent and their owners. Details of the inspections carried out on properties are also maintained here. Add property and owner Enter details of a property and its owner frmPropertyAdd frmOwnerPrivate frmOwnerBusiness View or edit property Display the details of a particular property and update them (including withdrawing the property from rental) if required. The log of changes to a particular property record may also be viewed. frmPropertyBrowse frmPropertyEdit frmPropertyLog frmPropertyLogDetails Delete old properties Delete the records of any properties that have been withdrawn for three years. frmPropertyDelete Edit owner Display the details of a particular property owner registered with Dream Home, and update them if required. fdlgSelectOwner frmOwnerPrivate frmOwnerBusiness Property inspections List the properties due for inspection, schedule the inspection appointment and record the details of the inspection after it has taken place. Searches for suitable properties can be carried out and viewings of properties arranged for potential renters. Property reports The Property reports subsystem provides a variety of printed and on- screen reports relevant to the management and of rental properties. In each case the user selects the required report from a list of available reports.
