About The Instructor

Stephen Herman is Vice President New Technology Development at Mastertaste, Inc. He has been
an adjunct professor in the FDU Masters in Cosmetic Science program since 1993, teaching the
formulation lab and perfumery. His SCC activities include serving as Chairman of the New York
Chapter in 1992. He was awarded the 50th Anniversary Chapter Merit Award in 1995 and was
elected Fellow in 2002. He has written several articles on fragrance topics, and been a columnist for
GCI since 1998. He has written a book, Fragrance Applications: A Survival Guide, published by
Allured. He has recently received a patent on fragrances for vehicles.
