Connection Instructions for Windows XP PCs with built-in wireless capabilities
Be sure that your built-in Wireless Network connection is enabled. (Network Connections)
Be sure that your computer is set up to “Obtain an IP Address Automatically” (TCP/IP Properties)
NOTE: The UCHC jdh-link guest wireless network is provided as a convenience to our patients and guests. It is similar to a café wifi
hot spot, that provides Internet access in selected hot spot locations on the UCHC campus.
Jdh-link is an isolated network and does NOT provide access to the UCHC Campus network or internal network resources.
1. Power on your computer. When the system is ready, you
may see this message: If so click on it.
2. If you don’t see the message, locate the Wireless
Connection icon in the System Tray, near the clock. Double
click on it.
3. In the “Choose a Wireless Network” window that opens,
you will see jdh-link listed.
Click on the button
4. When cautioned that the network connection is unsecured,
click on the Connect Anyway button
5. The Wireless Connection window will indicate that it is
acquiring a network address, then will show when Connected.
You can now open your web browser to access the internet.
Note: When you access the Internet using the Guest / Patient Wireless Network jdh-link, your browser displays the UCHC Guest
button at the bottom of the web page. After successful login, you will be able to access the Internet only, there is no access to the
internal UCHC network from the guest wifi.
On the UCHC Guest WiFi Portal web page, read the Terms
Type guest in the User box.
Type uchc in the Code box.
And Click on the I Agree Button.
You can now browse the Internet using the UCHC Patient Wireless Network!
